Downloading Ringtones from Webjal

I've searched the forums and have a pretty good idea of how to utilize the Webjal feature for the i860, I have already edited the ringtones I want, but when I login, it says the application was unable to find a phone attached. I have the USB cable plugged into the i860, and I downloaded all the correct drivers...It did say something when I was installing them about Service Pack 1 relating to windows, I don't know if that will be affecting it. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

It seems it is a Service Pack issue, which brings up my next set of questions: Is there another form of Webjal or a variant that works with SP2? If not, if the serial cable is purchased, will that eliminate this error?

I had the same problem as you. I upgraded to SP1 for Windows XP but that didn't solve the problem. No matter what I tried the USB couldn't recognize the device and Webjal would say it was unable to find the phone attached. I finally went back to the store and bought the serial cable and it instantly worked. Hopefully it works for you too.

there is an option in the preferences where you select USB. Maybe that will help

I spoke to soon. Using the serial cable allows Webjal to recognize the phone but now when it is almost done transfering a ringtone to the phone an error message comes up and says there was a general communication error and please check the connection between your computer, phone, and cable. Any ideas?

Reformat your ringtones.

I ended up figuring it out. I changed my mp3 to the correct wav format and then cut it to the appropriate size. Then I was trying to use Webjal to transfer it and it wasn't working. So I took the small wav file and converted it to a wav again and it worked.
