Hello i have a old v220 with a bad flash file (phone freez's) and my buddys have the newest software on his. Is there any way i could "clone" his phone to mine?

When I've tried to restore from a full backup from my v635, for some backups I get this error when selecting the backup file:

"Load file list failed"

It seems to work okay for some early backups I did, but for backups I did after adding ringtones and pictures, I only get the error. Anyone else experience this?

I also find if I try and make a flex from my phone after scaning the files it just kicks me back to the main screen. Anyone manage to flex from a v635?

I managed to download motokit, however after the download process it "hangs" in the installation process. I assume its the installation field because I dont read Chinese. Can anyone assist me?

??????? Can't read Chinese? (Just kidding)

Things to try:

Download program again, maybe from different source????

CLOSE down all programs running in the background while installing.. turn off your virus scanners, etc (after scanning downloaded files of course) You'd be surprised at how many people "try" to install programs, and running program(s) in the background will cause the install to go bad.

BTW: You aren't running Windows ME or something weird like that are you?

On last thought.... You might try installing while in safe mode?????

I am runnin XP, and it wont install on my laptop either. Never disabled other programs, even though everything says to. Guess Ill have to try it this time around. Did I by chance need to install the Chinese language pack it asks to perform? And it doesnt work form other servers, I just tried that.

Sounds like you either have something "running" that the installer doesn't like, or you got a bad copy of the program.

On "disabling program" while doing installs....

You ALWAYS close down unneeded programs while doing an "install"..... Not doing so is asking for "trouble" since files in use that may be shared with another program can't be updated properly.

BTW: I didn't install any Chinese lang pack... Once installed you change it over to English. It's been a few months since I installed it.... easy to change it over, I posted how earlier in the thread.

I would assume you are trying to "unlock" the Mpx200?

If so... yea man this software will unlock /unblock the phone. This is the guy you need to PM, he knows all about it: http://www.howardforums.com/private...=newpm&u=131570

Tell him you posting about unlocking (Or unblocking) your phone here in this thread.

He knows all about changing IMEI numbers also in case your phone is "blocked" (Blacklisted)... and you're trying to "unblock" it.

Hey Fellow Howards:

I just tired MotoKit and I must say awsome software. I ran into an issue though. I ran the V Series Menu settings and enabled some menu items that were previously hidden on my phone. A could of issues:

1. My menu keys got all reassigned, apparently randomly. This was largely no problem since I just went back into Settings/Personalization on the phone and reset them. However, I had the Left top soft key set to "My Email". That is no longer any option! I have looked throughly both in Settings and in MotoKit and cant see how to get it back. Help plz?

2. I enabled ring lights and Event lights. I don't beleive I had these before. What do they do. I cant see that any lights flash or pulse or do anything special when I get a call. What am I doing wrong? Are "ring lights" the same as "fun lights" I have read about? Does this feature even work on Razrs?

3. I also ran the "Video/Engineer Menu" but couldnt see that it did anything? Does this work on Razrs? What am I missing?

Any help on reassigning my soft key to "my email". I use to have one click access to it right out of the box. Now tha I enabled some menus with MotoKit, I have lost that function. Any idea how I get it back?

Is your phone branded? i.e. T-Mobile, Cingular. If so could be the way they set it up.
You could try P2KMenuEditor.
In your previous post you asked about 'Ring Lights.' You need to download the 'funlights.pat' file into your phone. Search this forum under funlights.pat for all the help you will need on that.
Also, the engineer menu requires an engineer flex on the phone.

I do indeed have a T-Mobile phone. It is highly possible that this is part of their setup. I did try P2k Menu Editor and couldnt see what would restore this function. There is a "convert to brand" button, but doesn't appear to be any appropriate menu item to apply that to. All I want to do is get one button access to my email again. It came set up like this and I must have interfered with it by using menu editor in MotoKit. I even tried a restore from my backup but that didn't help. Any ideas?

If you backed up your mma_ucp and mma_dcp files try and restore them. These files control your menu.
If all else fails try a Master Reset. If that does not restore the menu a Master Clear should. The Master Reset/Clear will rebuild your mma_dcp file.
p.s. A Master Clear will delete all your user entries. Phonebook/Ringtones etc. So make a backup.

Hello All,

Have tried Your Moto Saver's ramldr kit, it did not work with bl 8.23 of the silver razr
Therefore, I used motokit to backup; it shows:
-size: 3.64 MB (3,821,980 bytes),
-size on disk: 18.6 MB (19,595,264 bytes)

Are those figures corrected?
If so, in case, I messed up while flashing, am I able to restore its original without a hitch?

Your help is hightly appreciated?

i am unable to change my text using this proggie.. i am trying to change the clock on the outside to say "~Eaks~" and it does but only when the phone is open!!I did seem edit everything and it still wont show up? Did i forget sumthing?

You didn't forget nothing!........You will only see the change with the phone open. Defaults to clock when closed.

use moto tool with xlr8 guide to modify the outer text. It worked great with my v600. However when the flip is closed it only shows the time. the custom text only shows when flip is opened.

that is the first time i got that forsure answer.. and im sure i saw someones phone (i froget his name but he had the farrir symbol on his v600) and im sure it displayed words when the phone was closed!

V635.

As usual, I've encountered nothing but usb failed devices with trying a new phone. My S710a has installed ONCE...and once only, I've transferred 40mgs through the phone to the duo card with no issues.

Okay...sorry for my mini rant.

V635 finally initialized...very long. Tried it again later and it wouldn't initialize. Right off-I only had two options in the left column. Passwords, which wouldn't bring any menu up, and another one with like results. I was able to open file folder.

I deleted a whole bunch of ems/emoticon/ringers as per usual. But then I guess I deleted both *.db's and when I restarted, couldn't get into the ringers. I'm not worried-as I've 2 years of V300 screwing around to give me confidence, and patience in resolving the issue? just have to re-read that thread to verify which two I had to delete? or if it was just one?

Anyway., kempsum? are we supposed to have access to all options in that left column as with my V300? What about with the V3 Razr?

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP. v635 in need of modding-but no motokit to do it?

are there special drivers that motokit needs for the v635 or v3? help.

After Motokit starts select your menu item then plug in your phone then select 'Launch'

What about when you disconnect your phone? Do the other menu items not appear?

Then connect the phone to the cable and see if the phone connects to that screen.

yes that's what I did. all menus appear. When I connect and it initializes twice out of 10 times successful so far. all but those two menus remain.

When I reset the phone., it won't initialize again...but that's some other compatibility issue I think.

Funny though. I selected fix ringtone detail before connecting, to bring up that script with the respective LAUNCH. When I connected, that menu remained eventhough it's root menu disappeared (only two remained), I clicked LAUNCH, and it did the script fine. So maybe....once I get the initialization hiccups sorted, I have to

1. open motokit without connecting phone.
2. prep the option I want to do
3. connect phone.
4. hit launch in prepped menu?

lol...that's ridiculous.

Remember this program came out pre v635, and that's probably why most of the p2k based programs don't work to well with it.

As the authors of the programs themselves and myself have pointed out from time to time.... If someone was to "donate" the model phone in question to the author... that will speed up getting that model added to the program(s).

If the author doesn't "own" and V635 or whatever the chances of the program EVER working is nill, to none.

If everyone that owns a V635 for example that wants the V635 added as a supported model was to chip in $10- $20.... And the author got a shinny new V635... it might get added as a supported model.

If not I doubt it.

above poster-interesting proposition...so in the end the owner gets a v635...I guess that's fair for their hard work?

I'd be one to start a thread asking for donations. let's say 400 for a v635. Even if 200 people donate that's 2 bucks each...I think that's fair.

If 50 people donate that's...8bucks/ea? mmmm interesting possibility.

I think that the ONLY way to get the V635 added to more programs IS to as the authors of the programs have mentioned from time to time is to donate, or get up a pot to buy the models needed.

Put yourself in their shoes.... Hey I don't have xyz phone.... to play with or own... so why bother, and since I have no phone to play with, how am I supposed to test my program?

I would think that most of these authors of these programs did it because they owned a certain model phone.... Or at least had a test mule given to them to work with.

On the P2K phones... the V300 is a P2K phone...

The V635 it appears is not (translation, it has a bunch of stuff added to it , so some items work, but most do not)

BTW: a phone for the amount of work needed to add xyz model to whatever program, or comeup with a new program is indeed CHEAP....

The time spent if you billed for time spent would far exceed the cost of that donated phone.

I don't have a V635 for the very reason that not many programs work with it.

On the V300's and V600's I've had I was on the "bleeding edge" so to speak and had to endure many months of BS, until things such as SEEM editing came to light.

Since I use the phone as a phone.. and for business... I decided to wait awhile longer before buying another phone and having to go thru MONTHS.. of having a phone that does not work properly.. and no programs exist to edit the problems.

The only reason I would buy a Motorola would be allot of things I have learned over the past year and 1/2 maybe transferring over to the next phone.

I have read somewhere from the AUTHORS of programs such as MotoKit if not MotoKit itself that a "Donation" of phones would greatly "speed-up"... having that model added to xyz program.

Well as I've discovered before. MOST of those features in motokit. If selected before connecting, will function properly. YAY.

enhanced menus, passwords, carrier logo, inner text.

So far that's good enough for me-mind you when I did the hidden carrier logo. It LEFT JUSTIFIED the date-where it remains now.

Guess I'm going to have to learn how to use motoskin I think it's called?

The 'Left Justification' is not a Motokit flaw it happens if you edit the Seem yourself.
Seem 0032_0001

offset 74 - bit 4: provider tag (1 to remove, 0 to display) (offset 4B, bit 6 must be set to 0) (removes justification on home screen)

well actually it is. motokit only twice out of the 5 times that I tried-properly removed the carrier logo. Sometimes it would other times it would cause the gprs icon to get switched around.

I didn't seem endit anything myself. (didn't know how)

I'm currently reviewing xlr8's site for some quick pre-bed-time mods to my v635.

Did this myself., it in fact made "rogers" REAPPEAR. (scratching head).

will check this again momentarily. well I guess you can say it's a phone issue.

If you change the display ONLY. It'll LEFT JUSTIFY. If you change the left justify...it goes back to normal? freakin weird.

I'm still in the dark about how to simply increase the earpiece gain on my V3. I've been to several posts and have not been able to get P2KTools or Motokit to connect, with or without "Mobile Phone Tools" (which works flawlessly with my phone). The Motokit program tries to initialize (at least it talks to the phone) but fails. Actually, it doesn't appear this program even works with the V3 unless there is a patch available. Frankly, I'm not interested in doing any but that one function at this point and I see that there are others with the same intention, having the same problem. Isn't there a simple procedure for enabling the V3 with one of these programs to allow increasing the gain control without having to understand and apply all the other hack capabilities listed on these forums?

Well, I found the software, but don't have the foggiest idea how to save the "gain to a folder". I think my main problem is getting one of these programs to talk to my V3. The only one that seems to work is the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools. I must be missing something here.

Go to motomodders and download Bezols's P2kTools and adjust your gain setting using that.

1. Select 'Tools'>Gain Table
2. Select 'Get' to read settings from phone adjust as needed
3. Select 'Set' restart phone - Done!

Thanks, I've tried that and it looks so simple. Unfortunately, I can't get my V3 to connect. Only pgm it will connect to is the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools. Are there special drivers required for P2K to talk via a USB cable?

Have you tried Motokit .
Also don't have MPT running @ the same time as other programs.

When phone is conneced by USB try rebooting phone that hashyelped some people.

Thanks, I've tried that and it looks so simple. Unfortunately, I can't get my V3 to connect. Only pgm it will connect to is the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools. Are there special drivers required for P2K to talk via a USB cable?

Haven't read everything you've tried but here's the bottom line.

MPT is "consumer" grade software. Meaning it does NOT access the phone the same way as the other programs we talk about here.

PST, P2K programs are "service" grade type software, PST being "factory" Motorola.

Keep in mind the SERVICE type softwares access the SYSTEM files of the phone DIRECTLY, hence they use a whole differant set of drivers.

Good news for you is most of the hacks, the questions, problems you will run into have already been WELL documented.

PS: You better do some more READING, spend a couple of hours at least (preferably a couple of days) before doing ANYTHING.

I have downloaded this program...but am having a similar problem as others.

I cannot get my phone to be recognized by the computer.

I also have no idea what PST is.

I also often have issues with the phone being recognized by MPT.

There does not appear to be a precedure for those of us who don't want to become phone hacking experts. I've tried everything short of moving my computer back to Win Me to no avail. Most sites with the Motorola program seem to have been removed and the copy I finally found doesn't seem to connect either.

The main problem with the V3 seems to be that the earphone level is too low for us who are a bit hard of hearing. It would seem to me that they should provide this service on such an expensive phone, but alas; it seems one has to become a phone hacker to make the change.

Maybe there's someone out there who can simplify this procedure to just address the problem of how to get the phone to talk to the computer. I've found that the "consumer" MPT is very consistant in linking to the phone via USB, while every other program can't connect.

Frankly, I've spent more time than the phone is worth messing with this process and am about to look for another phone with more earphone gain and get on with it. I don't have time, or interest in becoming a Seem file expert, or whatever it takes to use these procedures.

Nm about last comment. I've run into a problem. After messing around with the startup/shutdown options, it messed up my home screen. No big deal, I backed it up. Restored it and now I cannot change my Styles, my Loud and Soft styles won't ring not can I edit them (booted to home screen). Any ideas?

Cannot access Ring Detail

First go into 'Multimedia'>Sounds>Highlight a Ringtone>Press Menu>Apply as Ringtone

If that does not work:

Use a P2k program and delete the 2 .db files (MyToneDB and TempToneDB) in the audio folder and restart the phone.

MPT and P2k programs use different drivers. Go to motomodders and download the P2k driver pack.

Too late. Got fustrated and did a Master Reset. I could not change the Style Details for any style except the Vibrate. Now everything works after the Master Reset, just lost my startup/shutdown and some pictures.

Actually, I can use both MPT and MotoKit without issue or reinstallation. But I agree with bubble.tea that its better to stick with the same application rather than switching between.

My suggestion was to use any P2k program to delete the .db files. Motokit is a P2k program if you want to use it do so. You two are acting as if I ordered you not to use Motokit. It is your phone and your issue use whatever you want.

All the posts listed re this issue have been abandoned and getting the program(s) to work seem to require a level or expertise I do not have. I simply want to increase the earphone volume of the phone beacuse I'm a bit hard of hearing. Simple process once I get one of these app's working. That seems to be the complicate issue.

Im gettin access to soft detail, loud detail etc. but not vibe & ring any suggestions using motokit?

Select the 'Fix Melody DB' in the top toolbar then restart your phone.

I resulting file doesn't work..there's no file extension, and when I check its properties (right click>properties), next to "Type of File:" it merely says "File". After doing a backup with motokit, i fixed my ringtone detail and it worked thanks for that, but all my numbers that were stored on my phone is gone, only my simcard phone contacts shows how do i get them back ?

How do I get a Motorola V265 to work on Motokit? I cannot get it to work at all. Ive installed the drivers for P2k, and still yet the only program that will read it is MPT. I can add ringtones to the phone but they will not play. I can however, take pictures off and add pictures to the phone with no problem. Whats going on with the V265?

Look at above post, that may give you some ideas. When you add ringtones you need to delete the db files.

So after reading all of this and searching the site like a crazy person, I guess its IMPOSSIBLE to use this or anything else to UP THE VOLUME in the ear piece of my V3c since it is a CDMA phone? I have done other things to it, changed wallpapers, got it to work with MPT so I can add ringtones etc, but I cant seem to find a seem edit or anything at all to help me adjust the ear volume and I cant freaking hear while in my Jeep. UGGGGH!

If anyone has any idea, please let me know I have searched for littlerally days on end.

I think the V3 CDMA version is a joke.. feels like a mock down version of the GSM one.. doesnt even look the same menu wise really.. so honestly said.. I dont think you can even do anything like that to that model.

I know a CDMA moto phone I tried didnt even give me the flash interface connection.. so not sure.

I am wondering tho if there is a new motokit out there yet or if another program that IS updated for newer models (plus) old has been released for easier edits?

Hello, i think i screwed up my moto v635. ive been trying to up the volume on the phone and i got this thing from the forum called motokit, right, so i hit volume and tried to adjust it but nothing happened, then i read here in the forum to go to control panel into audio and check where it says "use only default devices" then i went back to the motokit and tried volume again and when i went to my phone to see if there were any changes, there sure was, now no sound comes from my speakerphone, none, i mean no mp3s, ringtones whatever it wont make a peep. Pleas help i am so scare i screwed up my phone. i was trying to up the gain with the P2Kman but i found that hard to do, i thoght with this motokit from what i heard it was a breazy, now i dont know what to do, i did a master reset and nothing, i tried taking out the battery nothing. People please help me.

Okay...I know Motokit isn't designed for CDMA phones, but GSM p2k software works with limited functionality on the E815 and V3c. Here's the question, is there a way to modify the program to access the proper filesystem addresses? GSM Motorola are /a/[path], CDMA Motorolas are simply /[path]. It would no doubt require extensive modification, but I need a starting point. I also need a way to modify the flex creation portion of the software to point to the proper filesystem addresses.

I have a motorola RaZr V3 from a customer of mine on which he somehow managed to delete everything on the phone including the operating system.

Now, my main question is, can i rebuild the phone myself?
because he does not want to sent it back to motorola repair center.

Now since we are a computer shop and not a phone house so i really don't know how this works.

COult anyone help me out please?

Should be in Chinese when you run it the first time... then you select English.

Maybe someone has messed with the download... maybe a ini file, etc is confiqured wrong?

I hope I'm not repeating an issue here, but I didn't see it referenced in the thread. I have a V600 that keeps resetting/recycling when I'm using it. I'm trying to do a reset from an earlier backup on Motokit, but keep getting the following error: Load file list failed.

I thought my backup file may be bad so I tried backing up and restoring with the same file and got the same error, so there must be something else wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am new to flexing and flashing and don't want to brick my phone. I thought restoring from an eariler backup may solve my problem.

Good news for you, you have a older phone and there is a huge installed database you can tap into if you search around.

I'd suggest you read the Wiki for your model... I'd also suggest that you go over to modmymoto ... and read thru the GUIDES there.

Yes, I noted that in my last post... that the guides on that site does not have any walkthru's for the v600 per-se.

(Thing is alot of the procedures are pretty much the same.... or at least installing drives, getting the programs to work...)

PS: Did you read thru the Wiki on this site? There are thousands of posts here on the Triplets based phones that were culled thru to create the WIKI.

Also note (and this is from memory from 3-years ago) that on the Triplets based phones prefer one cable type or another. (Two basic cable types, "Charging", and Non-Charging").... The Non-charging cable being the prefered type. Charging cable being nice, but some programs /set-up freak out (don't work) when using a charging cable.

Is that your problem? Don't know... there are many things that would cause problems.

(I'd suggest you try another computer...)

If it was me I'd read thru the WIKI, do a Google search to find a site that has info "just" on the Triplets based phones... Read thru it several times before doing anything.

What the master cleared thing means is upon a master reset the phone reverts back to stock...

(It's asking you if you want your custom settings to remain after a master reset.)

It's like when you mod the mma_ucp file (the menu)... If you were to mod the mma_ucp and not copy the mma_ucp over and give it the name mma_dcp, replacing the orginal mma_dcp upon a reset the mma_ucp would be deleted.

Upon a master clear/rest? the phone pulls the mma_dcp, making a copy of it, giving it the name mma_ucp... Write overwrites the mma_ucp. The net effect deleting all your custom menu's on the phone.

Hey guys, i didnt get any CD with my Rokr E6 phone, is there any software available for me to connect to PC.

ne more thing, my phone works perfectly well as falsh drive when i connect it to my Laptop but when i connect it to my PC, eventhough it detects, it hangs up when i open the phone drive..What might be the problem

I've raised the volume for the earpiece and speakerphone using this program.

1) Does anybody know that the wired handset and bluetooth volume get raised too?

Is anybody out there. The threads are old and I can't get any links to work.
