Treo600 I can't hear ?

I recently purchased a used Treo600

When I call someone, they car hear me but I can't hear them

I'm thinking about 2 things.. 1) The speaker is broken or there is a setting somewhere to fix that..

Anyone have had a similar issue ?

Does it always happen? Have you tried a soft reset? I hope you weren't sold a bum unit.

I did a full reset when I got the unit

It's still doing that

When I plug a hearset on the treo, it's working fine, I can hear

I guess the speaker is broken

When I'll get home I'll take my set of mini screw drivers and I'll open the unit..

If it's a damaged speaker, I can change it easily, if it's a bad connection because of a bronken wire, I can change it..

I don't see anything.. a bronken board? I don't think so, the unit have some normal scratch, no thing that can break a circuit board

Everything else is working fine and I really appreciate it

I opened the unit

Tested the speaker with a multimeter, the speaker is not broken

"wiring" is ok

Verified on the internet to see if it's a known problem.. Looks like yes.. MANY people had this problem with a Treo 600 so it was easy to ask for a repair/replacement

Called palmOne, the unit still have a warranty

They are sending me a new unit (refurbished) and I'll send them my used unit.

Too bad you opened the Treo to test out the speaker. I doubt it wil be covered if you deliberately take the thing apart. However, since they're already sending you a new one in the mail and you just sent need to send them back the damaged one it should be fine!

Yes.. I got my new unit

Anyway, there was no way to see that I opened the unit
