9900 Paint Chipping?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is anyone with the 9900 having a problem with the silver paint chippping off of the phone? If so, do you think Vox would replace it under warranty? I had the same problem with the Motorola Timeport and Verizon replaced it under warranty. I have had it less than a year...

My paint is chipping off just above the side volume buttons, on both sides..

It bugged me at first, but now isn't a problem, really..

Thats where mine is chipping too...they should replce it. It is only going to get worse...

Do you also use the desktop charger for your phone?

I thought maybe that was the cause of mine.

Mine's starting to chip off on the face on the button side. Kind of P.O.'d me at first, but hey, it's a good phone, so I'll guess I'll live with it.

Thinking of waiting a while longer and then maybe have an accident with the phone and get a replacement with the buyers protection plan.

I don't use the desktop charger...I think it is from the holster.

yeah my 8900 has some BAD chipping from the holster.

So, any opinions on whether they would replace it or not?

Any Verizon employees have some feedback?

I really doubt it.. Its purely cosmetic and doesnt affect the phone..

same thing on my sister's 8610......not only on thfe volume keys, but the, hedset port, the bottom of the phone, and the side of the front flip.........the only solution is getting a lether case.

Yea, that's why I never use the plastic holsters they ship with the new phones.

A good leather or nylon case will go a long way toward preventing this kind of problem, as well as protect your phone if you get side-bumped.

here's some feedback - about year late.

no we wont warranty out a phone for paint chipping. hwo can it be proven that it isnt due to your own negligence? Mine has chipped paint as well, but who cares really. just take off the plastic and go to your favorite hobby store, buy the sickest looking testors model spraypaint, and git r done. simple as that. might want to primer first though
