On my V180, all the keypad LEDs light up when I turn on the phone or if I flip it open. When I hit the red button, the lights will go off and when I'm entering in a number, the keypad will only relight if I hit the 7 or * key. Is this probably an issue with the contacts?

Thats the light sensor working, take the phone in a dark area and it will be fine. Also try it in a very light area, as under a light.
