The S55 is a world phone but the S56 is an identical phone which concentrates on the US/Canada Market with an 850/1900 band I believe...

its not available without contract at the moment. this should start on monday for about 350 - 450 Euros inkl. Cam. At the beginning only bundles with cam are available.

That S55 has one hot-looking screen. Works on T-Mobile and it's got nice curves

Siemens phones have great RF , alomst all of them even the old ones , and for sure this phone will have english menu ! which doesnt

(keep in mind S40 was not a siemens phone but an old project of a german company that siemens bought ..

Does anyone know how good the RF is on the phone compared to the Nokia 6310i?

What about the Menu system? I'm a Nokia fan - are the menu's intuative or slow and non-intuative like the T68?

Absolutely love this phone, the only downside I can think is that the screen is 256colors....wouldn't of mind a 4000color screen

I agree. The 256 color display is the weakest point of this phone. But someone in the UK who has this phone said it is better than the display of the SE t68i, he has a pre-production unit. I hope the mass produced one will be better.

The menu's can be a downfall of the phone as well - please someone put in their two cents! We'd like to know more about this phone!!!

It seems from the Specs that this phone does not have an MP3 or FM radio built in. Anyone know if there will be a module add-on for it?

What a nice phone. I like the looks except for the back. The back looks too plastic and cheap. BUT ONLY 256 COLORS SCREEN?????????? ARE THEY CRAZY???? Would never buy it because of the screen.

The camera looks ugly. Although it does have a flash. Must drain the phones battery like h**l. Probably has extra AAA battery compartment(camera, not phone)

The Bluetooth headset looks sexy. But why only 256 color screen???????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????? That is why I'm sticking to my T68i, looks sexier anyway.

But i'd rather buy this than a Nokia 7210/6610

Ah crap. I've been doing some research and it looks to me that Siemens uses a special headset adaptor as seen in this picture (i know it's not a s55, but similar):

Yeah but I have a 3360 and this seems to be the better buy than the T68i MAINLY cause of better RF.
