Here we go again! It's been reported in other forums that the 7100g will be released by Cingular as early as this coming Monday. I've also read where that date is Monday, February 14th instead.

There's a really good Tex-Mex restaurant near me that has a sign up reading

"Free Cerveza Manana".

Cool! Maybe they'll have the 7100Gs there too you think???

There's a Sprint store across the street from the Tex-Mex place; maybe they will have the GSM based 7100g before Cingular

If I have a blackberry 7290 with Cingular and buy a 7100g (if it comes to cingular), besides swapping the sim, what else needs to be done to ensure it works correctly?

Thanks

BES or BWC? If it is BWC, you have to go in and give the BWC the PIN and IMEI of the new device and send the service books to it. If BES, the first time you connect to the BES it will recognize the new device and ask you if you want to switch.

I would backup the old device and restore (selectively) to the new one.

Thanks, its BWC...

I got a 7100t with t-mobile last week but coverage in my area was not to great. I returned it and got a 7290 with cingular and coverage is a lot better. I like the 7100 form factor and if/when it comes to Cingular I will get one of those and keep the 7290 as a backup.

Thanks for the info...

Should be a piece of cake. Assuming Cingular eventually releases the 7100g
