Use 7100 on Mac AND PC?

Long time palm user here. Trying to simplify my life by combining cell phone and palm.

Came across the BB 7100 via T-mobile and am intrigued.

I don't need email, internet or data for the BB. Just want good phone combined with pda.

I have a Mac at home running Panther and a Windows XP machine at work.

Is anybody syncing their BB7100 to outlook AND to a mac using Entourage? Am I asking for trouble?

Are the individual apps on the BB--to do list and memos--as robust as in the palm? I am not a heavy user, but don't want to go backwards either. Basically I write in todo's and put in basic memos.

BTW, go easy on me, this is my first experience with BB.

Ok I will try and tackle this one as I have both a Mac and a PC. First you will notice if you read the forums, the BB's when not used for email or web browsing etc, arent the best devices in most peoples opinion. That may be something you may want to consider.

Another thing, is that some companies wont let you buy a BB without activating a data plan, I am not sure what T-Mobiles policy on this one is or not.

The only way to sync your BB to your mac is via PocketMac software. I know it will sync via iCal, Address Book, Stickies, but I am not sure if it will via Entourage.

As for syncing with both you shouldnt have any issues unless you change an item on the PC, sync the phone, change the item on the Mac then try and sync the phone......i think a conflict will pop up and ask you what you want to do.

I love my BB and dont think I can give it up, but I use the email, web browsing all those features as well. If your not looking into them, then maybe a PDA PalmOS based phone is more up your alley.

Just a few thoughts

Brad;

Thanks for the reply.

PocketMac supposedly works with Entourage now.

My local Wireless Giant will let me do the $45.99 plan without and data.

My impression is the BB isn't great as a pda, but I'm hoping it will be good enough.

I'm thinking of signing up and testing for 14 days.

I was really shooting for the Treo 650, but can't justify spending $450 and up on a phone/pda.

I can get the BB7100 for $149 after rebate, which is reasonable.

you shouldnt have any issues syncing it between a Mac and a PC

the BB itself doesnt even realize its being sync'ed on 2 different computers
pocketmac aside (which is awesome btw) the BB should be fine with it

PM'ed ya
