Awhile ago I installed a third party alarm app on my p910a. I set an alarm to wake up at 6:10 a.m. everyday for work. I decided that I did not want to purchase the app so I deleted in off of the phone in the normal way. When I deleted it, I am guessing that the alarm on the third party app was armed to go off. Now I get an alarm everyday at 6:10 a.m. even though I have nothing set to go off on my phone.
I have to turn the phone off every night which I really don't want to do. I would prefer to leave it on and get rid of the problem.
It was suggested that I look in \System\data\Apparc.db and I have done that. It appears to all binary and I have no idea what to edit and I SURE don't want to crash the phone by doing something stupid.
I have thought of doing a master reset, however, Outlook on my pc has crashed somehow and I cannot sync to Outlook until I unravel that mess. I would have to manually bring in all of my contacts and appts. Ugh!
If I do a full backup of the phone I am thinking that I will just reinstall the troublesome alarm bug.
I even thought of reinstalling the third party app that started the whole issue but it has left something on my phone which identifies the previous installation and my trial period is over. All I get is the registration screen when I try to run the app. I guess I would pay the 14.95 to buy the app if I knew that reinstalling it would fix the problem.
What the heck do I do? You guys are pretty hot with this stuff - can you figure this one out??? I would be forever grateful for any insight on this!

My suggestions would be as follows:
Email the product authors. It's might be a file left around somewhere that you could remove.
Reinstall the alarm app again. To get around the trial expired issue, set your clock back to - say - the day after you originally installed it. Then hopefully you will be able to remove the alarm before the removing the app for ever.
Install SMAN and change it so that it shows all processes - including hidden system ones. Look for a process with the same name ('ish) as the original application and manually kill it. The only thing here is that if this fixs it it would suggest that a simple reboot of the phone should do it as well.
If the issue is that this app has written some alarm data to a common Symbian OS table that is then not read by the standard OS utilities - time, alarm, etc - then I think other than reset and reinstall, you'll have to get advice from the authors. Maybe if you found the name of the file that's updated, somebody could give you a copy of theirs - presumably without any hidden alarms ;-)
Hope this works out for you!

Thanks anyway ... I played around with the install log and ended up semi crashing the device - would no longer sync at all. That called for a master reset which then informed me I had a corrupted file system. I am now in the process of getting all of my contacts back into the phone.
Ahhh, live and learn!
