to replace a 6620 I bought(constant read problems with the MMC card). From what I've read I feel like an idiot for ordering the MPX220. Can you guys convince me either way to cancel or not cancel the order?????

is the MPX220 worth it? Is the sound issue (not loud AT ALL) hit and miss?

I was able to order it from ATT/Cingular (I'm still an ATT customer...sponsorship account)

the MPx220 I bought on eBay (its not available in Canada) has been great, once I got it unlocked. I just bought the HS810 Motorola Bluetooth to go with it and I'm rockin. Sync works well, email works well, Internet Explorer works well.

I have no complaints on this one and I was skeptical because the MPx200 I had before was crap.

Mine was purchased from LetsTalk.com and works great... I have a logitech bluetooth headset... my 220 syncs well with my PC now... all is good.

Return it.....and get another phone

I love my mpx220, but some times it gets flaky like every other computer I've ever used. The only way to know if you like it or can deal with it's quirks it to buy it and try it out. Most places will let you return it within 30 days. But if you don't want to take the trouble to find out yourself what all the hubbub is about then you may never know what it is to be a MPx220 user.

If you have any geek in you at all, you're gonna love it! The 1.30 ROM fixed everything pretty much. I'm still experiencing the microphone glitch, off and on, but other than that; AWESOME!

WARNING!!!!

Be sure to add "Unlimited Internet" to your account if you dont allready have it cause IE is a data hog; or you'll have a NASTY surprise on your first bill.

Enjoy it.

I loved having mine. Just make sure you dont show it off, because it's a thief magnet. Catch my drift yet? Compared to the nokia 3595 and broken moto v220 I'm being forced to use till I replace it, it's an angelic piece of equipment.

No kidding. Cingular screwed up my bill and charged my for the unlimited and for every KB I used. So with over 16mb I had over $40 in download fees. I am waiting for them to get it fixed now. They have to file all these forms they tell me. They over charged me by over $60 on my bill. They even charged me for minutes when I have the 850 min plan and I only used 150 min.

I was pissed to say the least.

Well with your current phone and current plan cannot be used together. The Media Works package is not designed for PDA phones. To get the unlimited pda internet package it is like $80 or something. But ofcourse Cingular doesnt know which phone you are using unless you bought it from them.

I got it at bestbuy and they know the phone I have and they told me it covered that phone. I would not have bought it if I did not.

Well cingular knows I have the phone to. When I was at their store they told me that only way I need the other plan is for the laptop connection card. Past that all the phones are covered under the unlimited plan as long as I do not hook it up to my laptop.

Not entirely true. I brought my MPX220 to the store looking for a case for it. The rep actually took the phone in his hands to show me how it works. He looked at the phone here and there and pretty obvious it's a MPX220. He still signed me up with Media Works knowing it's for the MPX220. After using it a couple of days, I called to cancel it.

I bought 2 mpx220's off of ebay, both cingular 1.3 I love them. They arent available in canada. The IE is the best! I love having real html browser that lets me see the internet like it is supposed to look, not to mention view little media clips although they do take a long time to download. In canada, I use it on Rogers pay as you go, and the data is dirt cheap I get charged by the page I view not the kbs! Its amazing. Really i love this phone, its a lotta phone and thats why most users dont like it because people dont take the time to read and learn how to take advantage of its features. I had the v551 before this and my firend has th v3 and there is simply no comparison. The mpx220 smokes em all. My only complaint is that it comes with lousy ring tunes call volume has never been an issue, it sounds great, and people who hear you say it sounds excellent too. I just wish there was a way to use the camera flash on the phone like a flashlight. That would be really cool. Hopefully someone figures out how to make this happen.

Enjoy the phone

I perused the boards here and I routinely come across the "audio issue". BUt just as often as I come by that issue I come by people saying they have no issue with the audio whatsoever. I'm guessing it's hit and miss. Or maybe that was a first run kind of thing. At any rate I'm going to stick with the order (I should have it Mon or Tue) I figure if I have any issues I'll just send it back (I hope Cingular don't give me any flak for sending back 2 phones.)
