MPx220 speakerphone before connection or after connected?

I've had the privelage of owning the v600 and the v400 and I am wondering if the speakerphone can be activated before you are connected to who you call or if its liek teh v600 and 400 where the speakerphone can only be on after you are connected with that person.

I believe you can only activate it during a call....

You can activate it immediately after placing a call. You don't have to wait until they answer like some other phones.

Can that be changed? Like through seem editing or something?
