I've had my service for about 3 months now, so I'll be getting my unlock code soon. I've done a lot of reading, and one of the FAQs regarding unlocking by BigDaddy5 mentions that the codes or something to do with the codes are held in a couple of read only seems.

I've flexed my phone to the Eng Flex, but made a backup of the T-Mo flex prior to flexing using MotoKit. Do I need to go back to the T-Mo flex to unlock the phone?

nope. they're written into the seems that can't be replaced.
