I am just wondering. Is there any way to soften the sound when you convert the song into a wav, say like using filters or something to get more of a pure sound ? So the sound is not as choppy and loud.

Thanks - n.e help would be appreciated

I don't know about cool edit but you can use the windows sound recorder to make them louder or softer.

in cool edit, choose the effects menu, choose ampitude, then choose amplify / fade.

choose the 3db cut. i find 6 or 9 db's work better. each song will be different.
