Blackberry SIM in regular phone?

If I take my SIM out of my blackberry and put it in to a Nokia will these cause a problem? Would I need to do something in BWC. When going out at night I don't need to take the BB with me but would lime to have my phone with me. Is this possible or does this cause problems since there is a blackberry data plan on the account with the SIM?

Thanks, Michael

No problems at all. Since the BWC (or BES or whatever) can not deliver the e-mail, it will just store it.

We have several customers who take the SIM card out of their BBs and put them into small phones on nights out. Works fine.

The BlackBerry Data Plan is on top of a voice plan. When you put a SIM card in a plain old phone, you are just using the voice plan.

Let me take that one step farther...

If I take the SIM out and put it in a V600 - then take it overseas - I assume since it cant deliver the data I would be charged international data rates?

I really don't understand the question. If you take the SIM out and put it in a V600 it will definitely get GSM and probably (but I am not sure) GPRS coverage. What does the last sentence mean?

Let me try to re-interpret.

You do not get charged for emails that you are unable to receive because the phone can't receive BlackBerry email. So you don't get charged data for the emails you you don't receive, because your SIM card was not on a BlackBerry.

That is, until you move the SIM card back in the BlackBerry (preferably when you're back in domestic unlimited coverage )

following the same scenario of using a BB simcard in a normal phone

if the BB is under unlimited usage plan, will I be charged for GPRS data usage for say web surfing or connection to web mail ?

thinking of using my BB sim card in a Treo650 and test out the versamail.
