MPx220 on T-Mobile - Gmail Issues

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok so i have an MPx220 v1.3 firmware unlocked. Im using T-Mobile and i have T-Zones setup and working flawlessly other than this. I have gmail setup correctly for POP access w/ gmail. I can check the email from the server and it checks just fine with no problems. Now the problem is for some reason it is not always downloading the mail from the server. Ive had it work once or twice when i have a few new emails and it would only grab 1 of the new emails. Any ideas what might be causing this? Am i missing something important?

I'm having similar problems on my ATTWS A-vox 5600. I've been getting gmails up until about 5 days ago - Error message about 'checking network or incorrect setup.'

Sucks man. Anyone aware of a universal gmail problem at the moment?

Thanks

I used to check gmail without any problem (Cingular n/w) but now I cannot either, same phone, same settings, same carrier, all of a sudden am start getting the same error.

One thing I noticed is , when I download my gmail messages in outlook (on PC) first and then try to check mail on MPX220 it works fine but as soon as you restart your phonem, again the same thing.

Here is the answer.

Go to your gmail account and enter settings then access your forwarding pop settings. There click on "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" Save your settings and all done.

Enjoy your emails now.

Bless you. I've been trying to figure out why it wasn't working for months.

I found the fix that I posted on the groups section of google. I put "gmail smartphone" under the search. Maybe you can find your problem there.
Good luck.
