Which games do you recommend for the VX8000?

I've read some Asphalt Urban GT reviews and that game is supposed to be really good. I heard 3d games cost $9 or $10 though so I don't know if it would be worth paying that much.

I tried 2 games so far..

Mr Driller. Got the unlimited license version and it is fun to pass the time. Play it every so often when my gf goes the dressing room. LOL

Might & Magic: Puzzle type of game.. simple but it was fun. Can solve it in one day so I would just buy the 1 month version.. Of course I bought the unlimited version thinking it was going to be a long game. It's pretty straight forward in the game play.

Hope this helps.

I hope others users would post their game experience so i could decide whether to download the unlimite license version or the 1 month version.. that way I don't waste money.

So far I have purchased the unlimited version of Tetris and it seems to pass time very well and is very addictive.

Ah... a classic I was thinking of getting that one too

tetris gets old tho, and you need a good half hour to play it if you're as good as I got, and that just gets to be a hassle.

...asphalt urban GT is freakin insane, best graphics I've ever seen on a phone - they rival playstation 1 graphics from gran turismo 1 and 2. - i just did the 2.99 trial, since I figured I'd get sick of it fast, or beat it, but there are a lot of play modes in there. You can change the colors of your cars, there is a large selection also,, 350z's, saleens, skylines, beetles, audis, tvr, everything. It's like GranTurismo!haha no sound effects tho, just some cool midi songs while you play.

I did ask whether or not you have to still subscrie to vcast in order to use it, and the cust service tech support rep told me i could, as long as I didn't dowload any vcast games that required airtime.

I want to check out 3d swerve basketball, and a bowling game - I mean, the AMF 3d one looks waaay better, but the jamdat one gets better reviews...what gives?

2 Questions....

1. Do you have need to be subscribed to VCast to play VCast games, even after they are bought? I can play them outside of VCast range, but im not renewing my VCast subscription and already bought a VCast game (asphalt urban GT)

2. Can you buy games on a subscription, then backup games, cancel subscription, and then move back to phone? I saw this mentioned in another thread, but not sure if it really works.

Don't know if you can backup the game.. Though technically I don't see why not... unless they put a date subscription end code on the file.. I saw posts mentioning that you couldn't transfer games from a old LG phone to the VX8000 due to Brew preventing that from happening.. I'm just going by memory, but I hope there's a way you can.. that would be sweet.

asphalt urban GT - awesome graphics, but control of the car was a little difficult. i'm not crazy about racing games but this is a good racing one.

might & magic - a good adventure game, but like someone mentioned, don't subscribe for more than a mth.

lemonade tycoon - cute for the 1st day or so of play, but lacks dimension & you get the hang of it too easily.

kingdom of hearts - has potential, but there was only 2 levels @the time i downloaded. supposedly, there will be more levels, and when that happens, i'd recommend checking it out.

prince of persia had great graphics & true video game feel, & the player control had a lot of fighting moves, but there wasn't a lot of variety in the different levels (they all sorta look similar), and there wasnt any big boss challenge @the end of a board.

tom clancy's splinter cell pandora - pretty cool 3D graphics, and game play was ok. it was too easy to finish, but you'd be amazed @this game on a cell phone.

just my 2 cents..

Cool reviews - anyone else?

I still have to get some feedback on Jamdat 3d bowling vs the AMF pro 3d game. Also, how is the 3d swerve basketball? the screenshots online are scarce, and there aren't many reviews.

I like getting games that I wont get sick of, after beating - just like how the splinter cell games are. once you beat em, you don't play them anymore. Bowling, you'll never get sick of. I called up and switched my Asphault urban gt game from subscription to unlimited for 9.99, since the longer I play it, the bigger I see that this game it - it's like the ultimate copy of gran turismo, except for your phone. The only thing that is tough, is your thumb getting sore after a while - seeing you use the directional pad to steer, and have to hold the 5 key with your other hand to accelerate....other than that, there are tons of play modes, cars to unlock and buy/sell/ upgrade/paint/ its the most in depht game I've ever seen so far on a phone.

btw...you CAN GET VCAST GAMES WITHOUT VCAST- as long as they are compatible with your phone model, the only difference is that they don't download fast with the EVDO service, they just take a bit longer - who cares anyways...no big deal. And you CAN USE THEM AFTER CANCELLING THE SUBSCRIPTION. I've spoken to 2 diff service reps and they've told me this personally. As long as you don't download a vcast game that requires vcast airtime, I would be wary of the multiplayer type games...but the ones that don't use airtime, you are good to go.

Seems like a lot of people like that Asphalt Urban GT.. I'm going to give a shot Thanks for the info on that game guys.

Anyone play musashi: mobile samurai?

Also, can you buy games on a subscription basis, backup to pc, then cancel subscription, put it back on phone, and still play?

Posted by: Sidney

Wow.. that Asphalt Urban GT is pretty cool. Took me a while to get use to it, but it's kind of fun. Defnintely one of the better games I've played on a cell.

Posted by: thesupe87

hmm I dunno, but that'd be a lot cheaper- I dont think that it works - I wish there was a site online that hosted the game files for the vx8000 - but talking about this even isnt allowed on the forums.

I have some game files from my old t720, I'm going to try and put them on my vx8000 and see if they still work, tetris and jamdat bowling.

Posted by: Sidney

I don't think it would work even if we could talk about a site that has all the games. The games are encoded or something to the specific phone ESN that we have. I think I heard it was due to the Brew protocal.. Of course I've never tried it so I don't know if this is true or not.

BTW did it work when you transfered your files over from your old phone (suspecting it didn't work..)

Assault Urban GT sucks. It's hard to turn and you can't see where you are going when you are going uphill.

Swat: The Movie sucks. It's more like target practice. You can't control anything and the only thing you do is if there is a enemy in the top left corner of the screen you press 1, top middle press 2, bottom right press 9.

Mini Golf is way too simplistic and some of the courses are too stupid. You can't get a hole in one on any of them becuase they are just like shoot straight here then shoot in the other direction.

Where are the good VCAST games at????

I have yet to find one/

Posted by: thesupe87

Id like to try the basketball one, that looks cool.

Nope transferring my old games didnt work.

Can you get games such as tetris without vcast? How would you go about doing so and how much would it cost?
