Recommendations for cleaning 7520 screen

The screen on the BB 7520 is so clear that the tiniest amount of "ear sweat" is greatly enhanced and shows up as a noticeable smear. I know various "pillow wipes" are recommended by certain manufacturers, but I wanted to see what people have to say. I've tried soft lens cloths (not the disposable kind) and they are not too effective; lots of elbow grease and questionable results. One item that always works is the CompanionLink/Incipio screen cleaning system (wet/dry wipes), but these are very costly. Any ideas?

Oakley (or similar) lens cleaning bags work well. I find that Kaydry towels work best, but I have no idea where you can get those unless you have access to a biology lab.

Get the Oakleys - it's important to look cool while scrolling.

I am on my 2nd Blackberry . I can tell you that if you do not clean your screen carefully, you will harm it. In only 8 weeks, I ruined my 7510 by using my shirt or a cotton cloth to clean my screen. It developed shiney spots in several areas.

I suggest you go to the Smart Phone Depot and buy the MicroFiber cloth which I have used on my 7520 two to three times a day and has not harmed the screen at all.

I have found nothing better that removes the oil and figer prints with ease without harming the device.

And once you get it clean use a screen protector thing to keep it that way.

I cut one for my 7510 once the one that it came with would not stay on and I will do the same for my 7520 when need be.

I do not clean the screen at all since I have that on there it seems fine.

The absolute best way is to take scotch tape and tape the screen, then lift off the tape. Its harmless and wont leave any smears, and if you work in an office, its free. I do it on all my displays, and even my projector and intelligent light lenses.

If you use "Scotch" tape use the blue not the green or red because they can leave glue residue on the screen.

I can't see tape removing oil or smudges. Dirt or dust yes, but not firger prints. Does it?

I used scotch tape and it removed absolutely everything. I've never seen my screen so clean and "bright". No residue, no nothing. I used regular clear "scotch" brand tape that was in my office if anyone cares.

Seems to be the cheapest way to clean the BB screen.

Actually, the best method I have found other than the costly wet/dry two-step cloth systems, is a treated lens cloth for high-end cameras.

The may be true, but comes at the modest cost for the treated lens cloth. Considering how quickly the screen gets fingerprints, dirty, etc., the scotch tape thing is FREE, easily available, easy, and works.

I understand your point about the no-cost option, but consider that:
1. You're cleaning a $300 phone and the $4.95 for a professional lens cloth that can be reused hundreds of times is nominal.

2. Scotch tape would get me nervous due to the sticky adhesive and pressure being applied and reapplied.

3. The convenience factor comes into play. You would need to always have a roll of Scotch tape nearby for on-the-road smudges, not to mention the fact that you need to press several times over the screen to make sure it has been entirely cleaned. With the lens cloth, corners and crevices can be properly cleaned with little effort.
