I was wondering if anyone has the Panasonic G70...it's a small flip phone...looks like this

I was hoping to get some feedback...how's reception, functions, is it user friendly....I was thinking of getting this for my fiancee....

My girlfriend just got one today. She hasn't really got a chance to try it out because she had to charge it right away. It is a pretty neat phone though. It is a mirror when you aren't using it and when u want to you just push a button and then the screen shows. It is imported from Japan(orhers is at least) so the ringtones are all weird Japanese stuff. And her text messaging is in Japanese for some reason when she types but incoming messages are in English. The guy we got it from told us he was goingto look into it for us. So far she loves the phones. Me personally, I don't really think it was that good of a deal because it doesn't come with many features.. like speakerphone, cam, or any of that good stuff.. I'm not sure if it has games or not. I haven't really had any cell phones before so I couldn;t really tell you much but if you have questions about it I might be able to help out.

cool! thanks for the feedback...what's the size like? does it fit in the palm of u'r hand (when closed)? does it have a plug for a handsfree earpiece?

Yes and yes. The size is very small. When I first saw it i didn't even know it was a freakin phone. But we are going to have to take it back because we made a plan for tmobile but I tried to make a name and stuff at tmobile's website to check minutes, etc. and they won't allow me to because it isn't a tmobile phone. Also if something were to happen to the phone, tmobile(as well as any other company I am sure) wouldn't be able to do anything for you. So you would have to buy a totally new phone. Well for me I would because I am under a year contract with tmobile. So if you were planning to get one, make sure you look into stuff like that first.. I'm new to it so I did not know and I am sure you already knew that but if not.... Anyways, back to the phone. My girlfriend loves it to death and she is hating that she is going to take it back!

If I'm not mistaken, the G70 is like the G50/G51 in terms of menus, features and etc.
The G50/G51 has speakerphone and I'm 94% sure that the G70 has speakerphone too.
While in a call, press menu>handsfree OR while in a call hold the # button for a few seconds.

mety - thanks for the info! I think I'll bet getting this for my fiancee...everything sounds decent, and she likes the design....LoL 94% sure, eh? how'd u come up with that number...LoL

pollutionsw - thanks again for the info...yeah, that's the only problem with getting international phones...no insurance coverage, and sometimes it's hard to get it working with some of the company features...although I do know that some companies (i know Cingular / AT&T does this)...if you have an international phone, and you pay the monthly insurance (and set up the insurance policy with them)...they will actually give you a phone, if something happens to yours...it won't be the same phone, but it'll be a similar phone (ex. if you have a camera flip phone, the will give you a camera flip phone...etc.)

So buy the g70 or not? I saw one the other day I was amazed by it but I am trying to find a reason to buy it.
