I say get it if it's cheaper. Re-furb doesn't mean it's automatically gonna be a sub-par phone. Some re-furbs perform better than factory fresh phones. They're re-furbs b/c they were once messed up, maybe they put extra care into them the second time around.

You got a point there.

Where exactly would you buy a refurb phone? Because if they are quite discounted, I might be interested.
Thanks

Does the sprint store sell refurbed phones?

I don't know about Sprint stores, but Radioshacks often will. At Radioshack, a phone is often sold as a refurb if it was returned by the customer, even if there was nothing originally wrong with it. They are sent to a repair center to have their ESN changed and to be reset, and then are sent back to the store. Often, this means that a "refurb" phone has barely been used.
I got my current phone (an RL2500 this way). It cost me a little less than a new one would have (since I didn't qualify for the discount), and it's worked like a champ for me so far.
If you do buy a refurb, ask to see it first. Do all the ovious checks (condition of the charger connections, moisture indicator, etc.), and check for nicks and scratches. If a phone has a ding or two, it is SOMETIMES possible to talk the price down a little further (but not much).
