Question on CDM9900 bin flash file

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

The Toshiba Asura software package available on the net contains a flash file called CDM9900_IPL_V223.bin

Is this the VZW flash file, or a different one? I know the 9900 was sold around the world and don't know if this is the right file for VZW.

I have a VZW 9900 that needs re-flashed and I'd rather do it myself if I can get the official VZW file version.

Help?

I don't know if that's the right one, but do you know if I can use Asura to dump my current BIOS to a BIN file and just send that to you?

I don't think Asura will do flash files.
QPST might though.

Tks,

On second thought please give it a try.

I'm just browsing forums in the bit of free time I have right now, I'll hook my phone up to my laptop tonight and give it a shot. I have both applications installed, so I should be able to figure something out.

OK. Thanks!

Sorry it took so long, I completely forgot about this. lol

Here's a link to the file I dumped from the phone. Whether or not it's the actual BIN file is still beyond me. Here's what I did.

START>PROGRAMS>QPST>QPST CONFIGURATION.

START CLIENTS>SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD>BACKUP, START.

You can just go to the "RESTORE" tab and select this "QCN" file.

Like I said, I still don't know for sure if it's the BIN file or what, but here it is:

Thanks, but unfortunately my phone won't accept it. It must be a file that is unique to your phone, since when I try to duplicate your procedure I get a different file.

I think it's tied to the ESN number of the phone.

I appreciate your efforts anyway!

Thanks,
CM

There is an option in QPST's "software download>restore" menu that will allow you to simply check a box and "ignore ESN differences."

I checked the box but it wouldn't take the file anyway.
