I just bought the T39 phone a couple days ago. I Love it. The reception is much better than my old phone Nokia 3360 TDMA. Currently, i am using Rogers GSM network. The phone works well with no problem at all. I could even talk in my basement. THe phone was upgraded to R4A.

Congratulations! Nice move. I use T39m with R2M, and still no problems with the phone (on Fido).

Yea.....a lot people in toronto are using fido network for ericsson phones. Apparently, Fido is the best network in downtown toronto. However, Rogers still holds the eage on overall performance. I would love to try the T68i. but so far, people are still having trouble with the reception. I guess, i will have to wait and see.

How do you find out the firmware version on T39? And where can you have it updated to the latest version? Thank you.

Okay, I got my firmware upgrade it at a Ericsson store in Canada. I believe that u have to bring your phone to the store to get it upgrade. If u don't have any problem with the firmware. U don't have to upgrade it. Plus, u could get a high performance IAT-10 antenna to improve the reception.

I will be in Toronto for a week at the end of this month. Do you know where can I find the store at?
Does my phone have to carry the Canadian warranty (eg. sold by Rogers or Fido)?
Thanks for your reply.

Thank you so much for the information.
BTW, how do I find out which firmware version I have, and what is the latest version?
Posted by: Casperwonder
Last one i heard is R4A firmware. I don't know about your phone's firmware but i am pretty sure that the centre will provide u with the imformation u need. One thing u need to be consider is if your phone doesn't have any problems. U don't need the upgrade.

Do u guuys know if u can remove the start-up screen of the BOX, Ear and Ericsson start-up sequence??
And i presume u cant get rid of the operator logo ?? the FIDO or ROGERS AT&T in the main menu??
Thanks

main menu or the standby screen? anyway, unfortunately you can't. :s
go to the menu and go to settings and select display. there should be an option to turn off the greeting. that will remove the startup sequence.

hi all
i've had my t39mc for a while/ got it from asia .. i'm with the fido network, but with its recent financial problems..may have to switch to rogers.. what's this 'frimware' i've been reading abt?

hmm... it's been said many times before that if there's nothing wrong with your phone you don't need flash your phone and upgrade to the latest firmware. however i've read that the later firmwares greatly augment the speed of the menus as well as fix other bugs...
i got my t39 way back and have R2G... and lately i find that the menus are slower than normal... regarding reception, it's still functioning like brand new... (i replaced the antenna last week) and it seems as though that's all i need to get rid of the no access/no network problem... however whenever i use my handsfree, people on the other line are constantly complaining of crazy amounts of static no matter
either way, would it be advisible to upgrade to R4B (or whatever the lastest firmware is?)
thanks in advance
