p900 SMS contact lookup

Dont know if anyone else has had this but I appear to be getting some strange results with interaction between SMS and the address book.
I have a couple of friends that have swapped phones so I had to change their numbers over in my address book. So people all ready in my book get numbers that were all ready in my address book. Problem is when I recieve a SMS it shows the wrong persons name. The number isn't repeated in the address book, in fact looking back at my address book in one case the previous person has been deleted.
I have updated the phone fully, used SMan utilities and run every check I can think of. Any one else got any ideas?
