Sharp TM150 ringtones problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a sharptm150 and when i try to send .mmf ringtones to it, (i have a part on my laptop that the card goes into) certain ones go grey while other ones work, does it have to be a certain size in (kb) in order to work on the phone as a ringtone? Please help!

Also, does anyone know any uploading sites for ringtones that are free and support mmf?

I've noticed that the ringtone must end in the proper format. For example, if it is a smaf, it must end in mmf or midi, must end in mid. Even if the ringtone works, but ends in a different format, it will be grayed out (or at least it seems this way to me).

Hope this helps.

MMF's and MIDI's have to be <50KB, maybe tha'ts the problem.

Ok thanks, i think the 50kb problem was whats getting me, mine were like 70kb, also, is there any site to upload these to thats free?

I don't, but why don't you just the SD Card? That's free - well you need a reader I suppose... but that's worth getting anyway.

Yeah right now im using the memory card, but sometimes its a pain to keep taking it out and such, also is there any programs that let the volume of the ringtone be played louder, cause the Sharp TM150 volume isn't loud

you'd have to edit the mp3 or wav prior to making it into a mmf for the ringtone to be louder, the only problem is that it will probably sound bad

If anyone else has the TM150... on mine, i have 2 kind of mmf's... you know how there's little icons on the left side in blue that say midi wav amr... etc, well there is a blue icon for mmf, and then for some things there's a red icon.... anyone know what the red means?

Red means they're locked so you can't send them. If you buy a tune then they are usually locked like that, pictures too.

You can try www.polyphonicringtonez.com for free ringers.

You can access the site with a PC, but you can only upload the tones to your phone through WAP (the site provides you with the URL to go to)

The tone sizes are reasonable and will download to your phone quickly.

I just got my TM150 this week and didn't pay to get t-zones internet access (don't use my mobile that much) and I refuse to pay for ringer tones.

Can a TM150 user tell me if it's definitely possible to download a ringer tune - wav, smaf, etc off the internet, download it to my sd card (i've been putting my phone's sd card into my pda to upload pix back and forth from my computer) and just transfer it to 'my sounds' to use it or is it only possible to download tunes (like games) on via WAP??

I love that I can transfer pix via the sd card, but it sucks that I can't do games that way and I'd like to know if I can do at least ring tones.

Please let me know.

Thanks!

Ringtone transfer by using SD card is ok. However, if the mmf ringtone size bigger than about 50 kb, the handset won't take it. (gray-out on the screen).

Cool. Thanks. I downloaded something to convert wav to smaf and it worked as a ringtone.
