(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: onesaint

Hello all. i need some help ive recently purchased a TXDTA10032 for my KOI/KX2 off ebay. It came with KDS 2.4 and thats fantastic, but that version wont work with my phone. i tried to download the update off of kyocera's site but it requires version 3.0 or above. i can connect to my phone with Kyocera Phone Service Tools, but cant figure out how to transfer files with it. can some one either explain how to dl things to the phone with kpst or email me the 3.0 or above version of kds? any help is greatly appreciated!!!

thanks

im running Kyocera Wireless Phone Service Tools 3.6.65 nad can see my phone as well as fidget with it. but as for saving files to it i have no idea. the other problem is QPST doesnt see the phone with KWST does. not sure what thats about. which app do i upload files with?

Posted by: Hunt4m3x

QPST will find the phone. You might have to setup the phone COM port on the QPST. DId you use Kyoceras drivers from their website? What OS are you running.

thanks for the help Hunt4m3x. i got the qpst to work on another computer. however i cant seem to get pix to work for the desktop. i have mirred the images from the phone as far as pixels pixel per inch and all that as well as saving them as .png. additionaly they are 117X90 and 72 per/in and bicubic. but for some reason the phone just wont see them after its restarted. any ideas? thanks

The original poster was asking for the latest version of KPD (Kyocera Phone Desktop) - not KPST or QPST.

I'd also appreciate knowing where, if anywhere, the current version of KPD is located, linkwise out of HF or in an HF post elsewhere as I've been unable to find it myself.

I have the latest versions of KPST and QPST. I need KPD, not KPST and not QPST. Kyocera Phone Desktop, not Kyocera Service Tools and not Qualcomm Service Tools.. haha have i made that clear?

Thanks in advance!

He was wanting to transfer images and such to his phone. QPST is better to do that. I also made a thread 2 months ago asking if anyone has access to post KPD, nothing yet.

Ahh, I have KPD 3.2 now thanks to someone else on the forum.

It's a work-around..

You have to download a .reg file, install it, then download the KPD 3.2 updater file from Kyocera.

Anyone wanna host the reg file, I'll provide it and HERE is the direct link to Kyocera for KPD 3.2 -
Kyocera Phone Desktop Updater, version 3.2 (EXE, 13.2MB)

PLEASE NOTE if you do NOT have the Koi or SoHo, then this is not for YOU. KPD 3.2 is for the Koi and SoHo only - it will NOT recognize nor work with other Kyocera phones! THIS IS KYOCERA PHONE DESKTOP, NOT Kyocera Service Tools!

I"m having the same problem too. I've put gif images in both the "wallpapers"and the screensavers folders, but the phone won't recognize them. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong?

Posted by: DanPFW

try png files

Posted by: AI32

ok, i realized what it was. i almost hit myself when i realized the stupidity that kept me from getting the wallpapers for like, four hours. i was looking for them in the wrong place. i was looking in the default wallpaper spot instead of going to the my media section. They were all there when i checked.

Posted by: onesaint

Nice work AI32! i didnt even realize the desktops would be in there. i guess i didnt do enough exploring!

Do a search for it in the forums, you'll find it.

Posted by: jaxx1

Thanks Damncellphone. The search is not working right now. I will try it later. If I still can't find it, do you or anyone have any suggestions?

Go to http://mobile-files.com/

You'll have to register but they host alot of cell phone software, including the KPD you're looking for. Once you've registered, the KPD software you're looking for can be found at this link:

Do you know where I can get BitPim? I have been hearing alot about it in these forums. Is it any better then KDS?

Thanks

http://bitpim.sourceforge.net

I personally hate bitpim. It's as tempermental as a female. Sometimes it will read the phone fine, then go for days trying and you just can't get it, then itll work again for like 1 or 2 times, then stop working the next time and work the next after.

Bitpim is used for adding/deleting ringtones, wallpapers, etc. on your phone. KPD does this as well as does the Qualcomm Service Tools. DO a search for them, you'll find them.

Posted by: jaxx1

Thanks for all your help. I have the QPST and the KPST programs. They will not find my phone even if I manually put in my com port. Any suggestions? I will just have to work with KPD to learn all of the tricks.

Thanks for the help.
