Hi!

I'm wondering if anyone has any luck by downloading/uploading pics/ringtones to this phone?

I want to buy it, but first I would like to know whether or not you can do this kinda stuff. Since, whats the point of having a camera, if I can't download stuff to it or upload stuff to my computer!

Any help or links would be help! I tried a search and I haven't seen a post where anyone is succesful. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Once you have taken a picture you should be able to email it directly to your computer.

sprintusers.com in the forum section tells you how to upload ringers to your phone and software also. Pretty easy to do but you will have to download some programs to pull it off. The nice part is that you can use the songs you like and make them your ringers.

You have to pay. I'm looing for something for free, like data cable plus software.

I use a data cable and Bit Pim for my 8200, but it worked for my 8100 as well. Paying for vision is well worth it though. What is the point of having a camera phone if you can't email your pics to anyone???

Is it easy to use? I'm really scared of buying it, and than screwing it up. The only things I would be doing is downloading my pics from PC -> phone, and vice versa. But i can use those online sites to upload to my phone a pic or ringtone i have.

I've found that Vision is well worth the cost. I have an 8200 and I know you can upload files to the phone without much difficulty at all. Check out http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/. You can upload pics and sound files from your computer to your phone without ever using a cable. The cable and software is worth it if you absolutely don't want to pay for Vision. Also, if you're willing to pay, the 8200 is better than the 8100 in a lot of ways. The 8100 has better signal but the 8200 has easier SMS text messenging (much easier!), flash for the camera, and it is ReadyLink accessable. I also know that it is extremely easy to download and upload files on the phone whether you use Vision or a cable and software.

My mom has a 8100, I out a ton of ringers on there, and the camera is decent..
