vx8000 plays not .mp3 but .mid. So, you need to change the extension of file name.
Uaually, when you open your folder on window, you will see your files with extension.
just change .mp3 to .mid
That's it

I meant to type mid in the thread title. I was using mp3s with the mid extension but still having the problems.
I think it was just Valentine's Day weekend network congestion. I say that because I just e-mailed the same batch of mp3s to myself this morning and all went thru without a hitch.
