I am a noobe here so be kind

I did a few searches and could not find that this has been posted before so here goes.............

I was playing around last night trying to see what I could and could not send to my phone from Verizon's web site.

I was trying to upload some ring tones (mp3's and such) and wasn't having much luck until I see they would allow me to send a .wav file to my phone attached to a text message.

I had a neat .wav file of a fuel dragster starting up so I sent it. When I tried to set it as a ring tone, the phone automatically changed the file extension........sorry..........it happened so fast I could not see what the extension was......something like .dlg or .egl?

I could then use this as a ring tone. Sounds pretty neat! So I guess for .25 cents each you can send as many ring tones as you want. Just send them as ".wav" files.

I have the data cable on order and have d/loaded BitPim so I will be able to do away with Verizon shortly This is good however for anyone that does not have the cable and/or is worried about screwing up your phone.

Moved to the ringtone/wallpaper forum.

you can also send mp3's with the extention changed to .mid to your phone also. This way you can send more of the song/sound to your phone and only take up half the space on phone.

hmmmmmmmmm....................
I have tried this many times but Verizon will not recognize the .mp3 or .mid extension?

Would you be willing to give this noobe a step by step as to how this is done?

Thanks

If you go to my thread located----> HERE about my third post, it will tell you how to change the extention from .mp3 to .mid.

After that, just send an email to your phone with the song clip attached to it.

For example, if your number is 123-456-7890 then your phone's email address would be:

1234567890@vzwpix.com

When the email arrives, it will play a short piece of the song that's attached, just go in and have it save the song. Once that is done, your set, the song clip should be in your folder ready for your use.

Remember to keep the clips to around 100k or so, and you'll be fine.
