i just got my 7230 and downloaded the software from the bb website which was 4.0 and it installed fine and can detect my bb via the usb but was looking at the bb itself today and it said it had 3.7.something version, do i need to update that software on the blackberry itself too, and if so how do i do it??

also, if i can leave the software on the bb alone, then i wil, also i activated the data plan with t-mo yesterday about 4pm and they say it will take 24 to 72 hours to be active, how will i know when it is cause i have a comcast.net account on outlook 2003 and wanna use the redirector software for this account and i know i have to leave the computer always on(i already do) also this morning i clicked on the t-zone icon on the bb and said i had to pay 4.99 to use, was that becuase my plan was not active yet?
thanks i advance,
jon

3.7.something (3.7.1.41, actually) is the latest handheld software from T-Mobile. 4.0 will be out within a month or so.

When your data service gets activated, you should get a registration message on the handheld. If it is not there in the morning, call T-Mobile customer service. Your T-Zones should work after the account is authorized.

Please note that the Desktop Redirector (you mentioned the redirector) does NOT work with POP3 e-mail; it is only certified to work with an Exchange e-mail server. For POP3 you will want to use the BlackBerry Web Client (BWC) or forward the POP3 e-mail to your BlackBerry directly.

I recommend you use the BWC.

also if i use the bwc, when i respond to emails i get from from my comcast.net account will the receiver see my address as the comcast.ent one??

You can tell the BWC to use one reply-to address, in this case you@comcast.net
