Just checking to see if anyone posted anything about how to play full (ringtones) songs downloaded to phone. Audiovox 8910 (Verizon).

I'm not sure about the Verizon 8910 but I noticed the Cricket 8910 will play a full midi file when you are browsing them in the ringer selection screen and also in full when someone calls providing they let it ring long enough.

mp3's on the other hand are limited to 22 seconds (from what I timed it at) regardless whether they are selected in Media Gallery or Ringer Selection.

Do you think its the software on my phone limiting the playtime in the ringtone section (something like 20 sec also), or can I play the full song in other area of my phone?

My guess is that it would most likely be the phones software that is limiting midi play length.

I should have noted that on my phone I got it to play the full midi while in the ringer type selection screen by pressing the volume buttons on the side of the phone, just before the backlight goes out which is set at 15 seconds, which doesn't affect the volume while in the menu.

I tested the length of play during an incoming call out of a combination of curiosity and boredom while at work.

Graveyard shifts can get quite boring sometimes.

I kinda worked! It lengthen the ringtone.

Do you think if I keep on pressing the volume control on side it will play the whole song?

My wife's phone is a lg 4500 from verizon also and her phone with no problems plays songs a the way through.

Kinda frustrating!!!

It should work if you keep pressing the buttons every 15 seconds untill the midi finishes playing. I guess the software is set up to just give a preview of the ringer.

there is no way of making the song play all the way through except by pressing the side volume button right?

if u set the ringer u want to hear as the default ringer, u can press ##1122 [end] then 1 and it will play the whole ringtone
