building 8890

hi guys..need help...i got this 8890 main board and the case, and i need to put everything together...my question is if 8290 internal parts will fit on my 8890 board and the case.......

One more thing where can i find a parts for my 8890 board...
i already have the board and the case, front,back, main case, slider........need help................

best bet would be to use the 8290 board and put it in the 8890. parts can be found on ebay.

Actually I thought that the 8290 parts don't fit inside 8890 housings? Isn't that why there is that aftermarket conversion?

it can work, but you need to spend hours making it work.. soldering etc..

Does anyone have more info on making this conversion? I'm willing to put in the soldering time to make it work but I can't find any layouts toshow me what I"m getting into

I like the look and functions of the 8890 case (retractable antenna, active slide) but I have 3 8290s lying around lol so sacrificing one to the conversion gods is sounding like a fun weekend project.

I tried the aftermarket conversion and it is just horrid imho... the slide is loose wiggles a lot, the battery cover feels *extremely* flimsy and you get half the cool look with none of the definitive functions...

There are 2 items on 8290 dosn't fit in 8890 original main case (microphone and keypad).

you mean buy the one he is selling??

that's the 8855's case...be careful..make sure it's 8890 in 8855's case..not 8855..or else you can't use it here..

hey...do you know where i can find an 8855 housing?? i think you can fit 8890 internals in to it!
