Hi,

My LCD got cracked, and I bought another used Verizon Se47.

I replaced the cracked LCD from the used one.

When I turn on the phone, it plays that SLider 'sound' and acts as if it's okay, BUT the LCD stays black

I mean, that on startup, the LCD backlight comes on, but no Slider graphics, BG, etc.
Then after the 5sec backlight delay I set earlier, the LCD goes dim.

What's the deal with me not being able to see the menu?

-thx

check and double check to make sure the connection is good....

yep you got a cable connection issue, either its dirty, disconnected or broken...check the metal lining of the cable hopefully you dont find any missing/broken areas

Yeah, I've had a similar problem. I've check my connections, and I've checked both ends of the wires, and all the connectors are there and intact....is there any way to tell if it's something OTHER than these wires? Or is there another way to tell if the wires are definately bad?

If you have checked the elastomer connections and all is ok, then check the revision number of the original LCD and the one installed. it could be a mismatch.

This is a common problem with Kyocera switching manufacturers and therefore controllers, they may look the same but have 2 revision numbers

good luck

How could my parts be different? I have never sent it in for repairs, or had parts changed (other than the faceplate, but I did that myself.)????

I had the same problem a while ago. They said the problem was sliding it down too hard. They told me it's a common problem with the slider and almost always it's because of closing the phone too hard and loosening up parts. I reccommend getting a new one and try being more gentle when you close and open it.
Works for me.

Well, I finally gave up and called Kyocera. They told me that I'd have to go to my nearest Virgin Mobile Center. The problem was, is that there ARE no Virgin Mobile Centers near me! *lol* So, they gave me Virgin's number, and told me to contact them. I got ahold of them, and the support guy I talked to said that they will completely replace my phone, free of charge. I just got my phone back tuesday, and it works perfectly (it should since it's a brand new one lol).
