MPx220 Camera Quality *COMPLAINT TODAY*

The camera quality on MPx220 firmware v1.3 is still terrible. I am not certian is rather the way I used the camera, but 99.99% of the photos I have taken so far, are incredibly BLURRY! Bummer, I was hoping to give myself a little bit of fun with the 1.3MP camera on the phone, which was one of the primary reason I choose MPx220 over the other brands. This is absolutely disappointing, when I compare photo quality with other 1.3MP photo, they are not fantastic either, but at least they are CLEAR!

Fellow MPx220 users, can you all please do ourselve a favour, and post your lovely photos on here. I would love to see those photo quality coming from your MPx220 handset. I think it is time for Motorola to fix the problems for their supporting customers. No offense, if Motorola cannot make a camera to function properly why bother to put one on in the first place. Since I am in Canada, I have to go through great deal of risk to purchase MPx220 on ebay, w/o any warranty.

In terms of functionality MPx220 is perfect, but when it comes to quality is disappointing! Most importantly, I really doubt Motorola will offer future updates/patches/firmware without any noises from consumers.

Fellows, please post your photos on the URL below! Thank You, Domo Arigator, Xie Xie, Merci Beaucoup!

Consumers deserves BETTER

As you'll see in that thread the camera is working 'good enough' for many people. So the questions are, did you find and remove the (one of MANY) bits of plastic covering the lens, is the lens clean, do you have it in some kind of case that puts something over the lens?

The most likely culprit though, and this is basic photography, is are you moving the phone at all? There's lag after you push the shutter, so do your best to hold it absolutely still until it shows the captured image... maybe hold it against something...

It's no SLR, but I was pleasantly surprised with the results I got right out of the box, given all the complaining.

Given 99% of the review complain about the camera quality, why did you buy the MPx220 if you were looking for a good camera? Seems like you brought your issues upon yourself.

If you wanted a high end camera phone, buy a GX32 or something of that nature. My GX32 photos are amazing, but I only carry it part of the time because need the functionality of my SMT5600 and am willing to sacrifice camera for function.

Can someone say spell-check?...sorry

Anyway...Lets make this clear, the Mpx220 is first and for most a phone. And as a phone it does a great job. secondly it is a PDA and it is very good at this. And then lastly it is a camera, and everyone will agree it needs improvement but works well enough.

So to say the phone is a piece of garbage ( not that anyone here is saying that) just because it don't take great pictures is missing what the phone is really for.

I hope that something will be done to improve the camera quality but as a whole it is a really nice phone/pda.

I really like my 220, but no previous phone has ever:
Now, I wouldn't mind if it had these problems because I was pushing the limit, running some strange software, etc... but I'm not. The random crashes and all the other instability really aren't acceptable for a phone, especially considering that many of us bought Motorola smartphones figuring at least they'd have the phone part right... how many shiny Moto logos did they slap on something they not only didn't make, but obviously hadn't really tested?

Here's to hoping Moto fixes it soon, but I'm thinking some of the problems have to do with the crap quality control at the manufacturer they pulled the phone from... Any word on when *Moto-made* phones will start showing up in the pipeline and how they may be differentiated?

Pictures that I take are perfect if it was taken during the day with good lighting, but fuzzy when lighting isn't good
