Taking Pics With Zoom 8910

Does anyone know why you have to lower your pixel setting to zoom in on the camera mode? Is the vx6100 the same way? Or for that matter, are all the camera phones the same way? Thats kind of annoying because the quality of the shots really suffers.

Still no takers? I'm surprised that nobody replied to this. I think perhaps the LG would take a better picture because it uses more colors. Just a thought.
