Treo 600 screen switches off during call

hey all, I recently got a Treo 600, everything is doing okay except for the screen which switches off when i'm between the call which also locks it. After the call is done i have to turn the lock off and end the call manually :/ .. Is there any setting or Utility which can keep the Backlight off, but leave the screen on and not Lock the screen.(Like in regular Phones)
