VZW-Vox8910 and Ringtones

Man am I frustrated. I dropped my 8900 in a snow covered parking lot the other night. i found it the next day with a tire track over it. The phone worked but LCD is shot. I have been trying to get data off of it with mixed results.

So now I have a replacement 8910 from VZ, but when I copy ringtone files over using BitPix or Brewsky, the files are copied over but when I play them they just play some short system tone.

Anyone found a way around this? I have been trying to get QPST to work, but I cannot get it to recognize my Com port 4 as not busy and available.

Thanks
Chuck

criddled456,

In your post in the other thread, are thinking that my problem is that the files I copied over are too long or too large?

I can copy files overm but when I play them on the phone they are changed into some "system tone". I can tell that they are changed for some reason because if I copy 5 tones over with BITPIM, each one is a different disinct tone, one is a snaredrum with a rimshot at the end. So I know my files are "OK" but phones OS is changing something?

Thanks
Chuck
