I am thinkin about buying the Slider for Virgin Mobile and activating it on Verizon.

Since it's about $100 now, I was wondering if it was better to just by a VM slider and get it on Verizon than spending more for buying the Verizon slider.

Can anyone please tell me what's better.

Has anyone used a VM slider on Verizon?

Also,

Is the phone easy to unlock.

It was kinda hard to put my Sprint phone on Verizon.

I hope this might be easier.

Anyone?

VM slider on verizon is very easy. i did it if you have the data cable you can even flash it to a verizon phone so it even has GIN not that you'd want it but hey its there and you would get the verizon screen savers.

How do I get Verizon to flash it?

you could try and ask em but they prolly wont do it. using a data cable, two apps(Se47.exe and SPC.exe) and a vzw flash image you could flash it so it's a verizon phone. however if you just want to get it to work on verizon(make calls etc) you wont have to flash it since flashing is risky and some people dont want to risk it. just curious do you already have a plan with verizon and a phone? if you do it will make this easier.

Yes, I've been with Verizon since 03, I just really want to be able to SEND/RECIEVE text messages and call people.

With the data cable can I add ringers and wall papers?

Can I put the Slider on Verizon without a data cable?

Posted by: 22bsti

i dont know if you can do it without the data cable. i did it with the data cable. heres what i know you just go get an account on verizon's website and login. then go to account managment then go to activate phone. then activate existing equipment, enter the esn of your new phone and select some reason. From here i dont remember exactly. i just copied settings from my kx414 to my se47 using the kpst and a data cable. After that its just a matter of doing the *228 or *22801 dont remember ill let someone more knowlegable finish this off.

Trust me - you do not want a Slider! Get an LG VX-4500 or something instead.

Nah, I've had the Slider befofe, LOVED IT, just couldn't keep up with Top-Up cards and Verizon at the same time

BTW: Why are you promoting your phone?

"BTW: Why are you promoting your phone?"

Because I got the phone to replace the Slider and I know for a fact how much better it is than the many Sliders I had. Also because, on paper it's a very similar phone feature wise - dual-band CDMA (all-digital), speakerphone, similar size.
