I got my nephew a boost i285 this x-mas, and my sis got an i860 this week and gave him her i95...was wondering if anybody could unlock the boost for nextel, so he could at least still use the phone...i searched all over but couldn't find how so I'm finally giving up... any help would be appreciated...

could someone point me in the right direction of what mods i could possibly receive, having the i860 with nextel? ive seen some things about flashing keypads and us dialing amongst others and was curious if there was anyway it would enhance the reception?? ive looked for threads with search a lot but they never really answered my ?s indefinitely, so hopefully i wont get flamed for this post. also i have carrier rss and have no idea how to use it or what to do with it. can anyone provide me with some insight. thanks in advance.

I am stumped. I am a rookie who got a couple of midi ringtones and I need an rss or cp (???) so I can install the ringtones. Being clueless, and this being my first time trying to figure this out, this is where I ended up. Frustrated and going in circles, can someone give me some insight as to what I am doing? Much appriciated.

You don't use a codeplug or rss to upload ringtones to your phone. You need a program called webjal. It is a sticky at the beginning of this thread. You will also need a data cable.

instead of people troubling other people to mod your cp's, why doesnt someone just start a thread about how to mod the cp's for oneself. sounds easier said then done but that is the point of a forum to share information. i think that thread would become a sticky!

There are several reasons why this isn't done. I will give the basic ones here.

In order to mod your codeplug, you need a version of RSS, called Depot, that is pretty much banned from discussion in about 98% of Nextel forums. The main reason it is banned from discussion is Motorolla doesn't like anyone having it and they will shut sites like this down for distributing it. The program is out there. You just need to search for it. Some people sell it. Others will give it to you for free, if you are lucky enough.

The next reason this isn't done is because modding a codeplug shouldn't be done by people that don't understand what they are doing. Sure, everyone has to start somewhere, and in order to learn how to do it, you have to practice. Now here's the situation... You manage to get ahold of depot and think you know what you are doing so you advertise that you can mod codeplugs. One day you accidentally change a setting while modding a few other things. You then send the codeplug back to the person that made the request. He then uploads it to his phone and the phone is messed up and doesn't work. Not a good situation.

We are not saying that codeplug modding is difficult; however, it shouldn't be done by just anyone.

well i know w/ the older fones you can replace the ringer 1,2,3 by loading a ringer in midi format w/ ringer1 as the name... Never tried w/ the 860

what do you mean free? you have to have atleast a basic internet serivce to be able to go on line. and even if you'll get text messaging for free, nextel will charge you for a message, about 10 cent. searche the forum there is a site that does that.

GPS comes enabled by default. 730's can have American Dialing, Subsidy unlock, string mods (power up, NEXTEL, T9 TEXT ENTRY), MO-SMS enable and MMS enable...(I am not quite sure about the MMS..)

is there anything that wud stop string mods from working on a phone using boost. I have a nextel phone, but it just uses a boost sim (i got it used). It says boost instead of nextel on the main screen all the time. But when i just view the string in carrier it says NEXTEL. My Cp was modded for it to say pimptel, but it still says boost.

Check your email.

the NEXTEL/BOOST logo on the main screen is the carrier string. It is hard coded into the phone, and cannot be changed. There are people who are working on it, but it has not yet been released to the public. (check posts related to removing the nextel banner)

Hey guys I just got my i450 boost unlock

thanks to this guy moose. He is exceptional

and can take care of all your needs at once. And might i add he is very friendly and answers all your questions promptly and fully.

If you need any of your newer boost or nextel phones unlocked you need to contact him right away. He does remote unlocking via serial cable for now. I my self used an old condor serial cable with the plastic middle piece removed.

This guy is a one time stop and shop, he can virtually take care of all your needs in one setting.

Hey, guys I was messing around with the codeplug of my phone on rss agent, and I wrote the cp thinking nothing of it. However, now I can't hear out of the earpiece, or speaker, and no one can hear me when I talk on the phone. I have an i95, can anyone help me?????????????????????? I was wondering if you could fix my already moded 860 cp to keep the free internet and to remove the nextel banner and also to do anything thats not done to it. The last one that you modded lost the free internet but i had backed it up, that or i sent you the wrong one.
