VX8000, Problems sending ringtones?

Anyone else have trouble emailing ringtones to their 8000?
For some reason, I have to "reboot" the phone each time after I receive a message, or I get a "Message Receive Failed".
Is this a known problem? I have seen something similar posted regarding taking pix at the highest resolution after using EV-DO, but although I am getting an EV-DO signal, I have not used EV-DO, as it is not active on my account.
Bug, er, I mean software limitation?
