Anyone know what GPS can be used for on this phone? I turned it on in the ##GPS1 settings, but it doesn't give me a location when I check that menu option.

When I got the phone I noticed that this was listed as a feature. I asked the guy who sold me the phone what it was for and he said that it could be used in conjunction with the mobile web so that it would customize your weather, news, etc, based on your GPS location.

I searched the forums, searched Google, and read through the manual and still don't know what the GPS function is good for...

thats been drivin me crazy too! i can make a little wave symbol appear next to my little target icon, but the application doesnt give a location and im sure its blocked because occasionally the "longitude" will say "take pix".

Probably yet another feature Verizon has disabled...

I imagine that it has to connect through some kind of server b/c there are fields for IP and port. Problem is, when I select those, it says something to the effect that the function is disabled it won't let you edit the fields.

Either way, I enabled the feature. Maybe if I'm ever in trouble 911 will have an easier time finding me...
