Does any one own one or has experience using it? Good? Bad?

Thanks in advnaced.

For an entry-level phone it's pretty good.

menu is similar to V60c... blue screen and key pad.

the battery is slightly loose due to the design but nothing to be too concerned about.

RF is pretty good, I hope it's okay to say "above average".

earpiece is clean and clear (BM's network is excellent ...my opinion)

microphone I was told by the recievers... were also crisp and clean.

overall finish is similar to the Samsung N370.

not 1X...don't know if this is at all bad.

battery life is very good...I think I'm on my 4th day on the initial charge?!

I hope this helps you a little, can't beat the price $199 if you're doing a hardware upgrade- $99 if you sign up on a 2yr plan. If you need more than a phone then wait for the 7135, I'm waiting for that too.

I'm saying Xmas, but more likely 1st/2nd quarter 2003?!

The Thera is fairly new, but on the other hand that's "Pocket PC" whereas the 7135 is "Palm OS"

The price will definitely be around $800, hopefully less

That's a lot... would anyone actually pay that much?

Considering you would be replacing 2 devices - together they would cost the same or more.

That said, I will probably wait a few months to ensure that all the bugs are worked out of the phone (in terms of network issues). I got the 2255 within a month of it being released, and had a few network issues that caused me some grief. However, a month later and a firmware update, and the problems disappeared.

I am interested to see how big the unit actually is, and if it can use MP3 files as the ringtone (doubtful, but one can hope).

From what I know, you can definitely make mp3's as your ringers. This is done with the desktop software that will come with the phone. The phone is still expected to come out in November barring any show stoppers. I've played with the phone a few times and its quite good, and big

Check out the forums at www.smartphonesource.com, they're going nuts waiting for the 7135

Really? I will definitely check out the link you provided - the MP3 ringtones make this thing that much cooler (like it needed to add anything else ).

Anyway, I hope the phone part of this thing is as good as (or better!) than my 2255.

Thanks for the information!

The Audiovox THERA is being sold for $1500 + Tax Canadian funds.

Crazy eh?

Like someone posted earlier, you ARE replaceing TWO devices, and not only that, you're merging them together, so you will be paying a premium.

I keep getting told that BM has not changed the firmware on the 2255.
Mine is JS 1.0.35
Does anyone with Bell have a later verson?
You can check by entering "11111" then "OK" and then "Version"

That is the version I had mine upgraded to (believe I was on 1.0.31 - BUT am not 100% sure) - remember this was May timeframe.
