What phone should I get for T-mobile?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey ya'll I live in south FL and am about 90% sure I'm going to choose T-mobile. I had it with motoralla service here. Anyway, I was searching and searching for my next cell phone. I'm about 75% sold on the TM150 solely because they have a free deal and 1+MP cam. These are the required features I want:
cam 1+MP
GSM network
big variety of ring tones
mms
sms

Posted by: braindead5400

so are you asking us if we would recommend the phone to you?

Posted by: groggy23

Yes, sorry I should've specified.

If they only have the features from nokia 6820 and combine that with the big screen and cam quality of the tm150. I likey

Posted by: braindead5400

I owned the GX32 which is related to the TM150. The camera and screen are AMAZING. The camera on the TM150 is much better than the cam on the P735, it also has the best screen out of all the tmobile phones. The only things its missing are speakerphone, bluetooth, mp3 player and a flash. The GX32 has all of those except for speaker phone. If you can get past what is doesn't have, as well as its looks, then you'll love the phone.

Posted by: groggy23

Well honestly I guess I don't really need a 1MP+ cam a 640 will do just fine as long as its sharp or close to sharp. I'm now leaning more towards mp3, ringtones, and such yet I don't want to spend more than 50 on a cell phone. choices choices... I was thinking the 6820...

Posted by: braindead5400

the 6820 has a cif cam I believe, worse than vga quality. Does tmobile even sell the 6820?

It also doesn't support mp3

Posted by: groggy23

yeah i just saw tmobile doesn't offer it and yeah doesn't have the features i want. I will have to look for some more for the cell phone I really want. So far I'm really leaning towards the TM150 been reading mixed reviews. I mean the cam 1MP is a big plus but I hear it has bad battery life and missing some features I want, sms, mp3, etc.. My price range want to be below or equal to 50 if possible.

maybe we can help you better if you could tell us your at least 5 most favorite phones that you can get with t-mobile.

Posted by: groggy23

Well, thats what I'm having a hard time choosing, there's so many cell phones out there I'm trying to get a specific one with the features i like.

I can give you the features I want:
-T-mobile
-sms, mms, ems
-large variet of ring tones
-cam phone not crappy quailty but good enough to see
-mp3
-voicemail
-callerID
-below $50 if possible
-basic features
-nice layout and design, not like the tm150
-GSM at least triband

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
-great network/service I don't want loss of servicce at all
-long battery life preferred

features I don't need:
-bluetooth

some phone co.:
-Motorolla they have nice phones but I personally do not like they're flip design in general
-never had Sharp but am skeptical of the TM150
-nokia's are nice feature wise, but am unsure of the quality

the phones that i am considering are as follows:
V300
TM150
nokia 6820 but not offered with tmobile
V600 but too expensive

The TM150 has sms. If you want mp3, then the v300 or v600 seem to be the only ones that will work (out of the phones you listed). I'm not too sure about Rf on those phones though

Posted by: groggy23

Well, I'm would like the features of the mp3, mms, and cam. And most importantly I want to have good RF, thats priority along with good battery life. I want to broaded my search with tmobile but the price is going over 100 for the phone i want. i guess i will have to sacrifice some features. I guess I don't need mp3, defenitly no bluetooth, at least a cam and good basic features. If only the TM150 had better design and basic features I would choose it. I mean I've looked at the tmobile site and phonescoop but selected the features i want and it didn't really give me much selection.

Posted by: groggy23

Well, I'm going to T-mobile later to check out the TM150 in person. I think I really like the phone, doesn't have mp3 or bluetooth which I can live w/out. Seems like everyone likes the RF reception is good and battery life is soso. And of course I really like the quality of the pictures etc.. So I'm really leaning more towards the TM150 now its free and has what I like.

Posted by: braindead5400

what basic features is the phone missing? Battery life is gonna depend on how often you use the camera. The CCD lenses uses alot of battery power and the longer you use the viewfinder and the more pictures you take, the sooner your battery will die

Posted by: groggy23

Ok, I'm stuck between these two phones now. The TM150 and the V300. I like the fact that I can get the TM150 for free with T-mobile plan and it does have awesome picture quality but missing some features that I like. However the V300 offers alot of the features I like including the mp3 ringtones, speakerphone, etc.. however it only has a 640 VGA display which I can live with.

tm 150 is a better phone than v300 to me by far. TM 150 has 1MP cam., SD slot, TFT, 256K colors ,Size 240 x 320 pixels which V300 doesn't have those specs. Don't even compare those two. The usb port is probably the only good thing v300 has over tm150.

Posted by: braindead5400

theres no usb port on the v300, its on the v220 and the v3

- WAP 2.0
- T9 (iTAP)
- Organizer
- Calculator
- Voice memo/dial
- Nokia Smart Messaging

Posted by: braindead5400

Posted by: Levent

They are talking about the fact that you can use a USB data cable to hook it up to a computer. They are not talking about the usb port that is present on the v3 or V220

IF you check the bottom of V300, V220 and E398 they are all same and have same usb port.

Posted by: braindead5400

The V220 and the V3 have mini usb plugs on the side of the phone. The V300, E398 and V600 all have connectors for usb data cables on the bottom of the phones. There is a difference.

Posted by: Levent

so what is a usb port called then?

usb plugs or usb connectors? Plus, they all do the same thing.

Posted by: Levent

PCs would have the usb port and phones connector with a data cable to connect. In that sense, connector or plug shouldn't really make a difference to me.

Posted by: braindead5400

the way you listed it in your post made it sound like you were saying the V300 had a built in usb port, which it doesn't. You can get a data kit for the TM150 aswell so I don't get how thats an advantage for the v300

Posted by: groggy23

ok cool. im pretty sure im going to go with the TM150 then

of course it is built in motos, and where are you going to connect the data kit if you get tm 150? it doesn't have a usb connector or plug, yet i'd still buy tm 150.

Posted by: braindead5400

I would assume you would place it in the same place as the GX32, the bottom of the phone

Posted by: Levent

same as your 6230

Posted by: braindead5400

I've got a pop port connector where I can attach a variety of things, one of them being a data cable
