T616 Freezes and Failures

I have a T616 phone and have had the displeasure in the past several months of the telephone display freezing for anywhere between 2-15 minutes while making calls. During that time none of the buttons work including the one to turn the phone on and off. I have to remove the battery and replace it to unfreeze the phone.

Also, during calls, the phone will just turn off: no display, no call, no nothing, and then after a few minutes, the cingular logo will come back on and the phone will turn on.

I know little about phones. Would you think this is a phone problem or a network problem? (I would assume phone.) Has anyone seen this type of behavior with his/her phone?

from what it sounds like you probably didn't do this but.... did u flash your phone at all?

when did this start happening? like what did you do that caused this to happen the first time or did it just do it on it's own?

Gee, I hope I haven't flashed my phone! Since I don't know what that means, I certainly hope that I've never done it accidentally.

And everything just started happening on its own over 6 months ago. It is just becoming more and more frequent (and annoying).

I had the same problem with my T616. It also froze up during gprs tethering. I called Cingular and they said it was the phone. I called Sony Ericsson they said it was the service. So i went back to Cingulars local store and they replaced it for me. I did this three times before it fell to its doom. Then i got the T637 and the same darn things started to happen with it. so after a few months of all this again i bought a motorola and havn't had a problem since. I like the Sony Ericsson, but with preformance like that, i will now think twice about buying another.

Just what I was afraid of. It's just a Sony Ericsson problem. I'll see about getting a new phone and keep my fingers crossed.

I've had this problem too with my t616 bought in December 2003. Sorry, I don't have any advice for you on how to fix it but you are not alone. My new Z500a doesn't seem to do this

that's the sony ericsson firmware problem. flash your phone with a newer firmware version might solve the problem.

I'm truly a novice at this. How does one "flash" a phone? Perhaps you can point me to a reference?

i have no idea what flash means but anyways um can sumbod help me on this unlock code for the sony ericsson t616 [at&t] i really need it. thanks roy
