CDM9900: Is there a way to remove the "beep" that precedes the ringer?

When using a musical ringtone, it is very noticeable that the phone beeps before playing it when a call is incoming.
Is there a way to disable this beep, so that when a call arrives, the ringtone starts right away, without the beep?

Hmmm. Mine doesn't do this.
Do you have any alerts turned on?

I just checked and it turns out I have "Caller ID" alert on... Is that what's doing it?

Yes. The beep is to let you know there is Caller ID information available. I have that turned off. It is annoying!
