I got my first BB and am not using BES. I set up my blackberry.net email and instructions state to run the redirector, but where is that?

I am not getting emails on my BB now.

I am running v4. Can someone help this dumb fool.

Redirector is on the software cd that came with the bb, it is part of the desktop manager bundle, and will automatically be loaded when you choose that you are not on a BES. Redirector will only help you in the case that you have an exchange server to run the software with, then it will forward emails.

If you have pop3, imap, etc accounts you want to check, you need to log back in to BWC (Blackberry Web Client, where you set up your blackberry.net account) and under Profile or Options you will have the ability to add email accounts to be polled by BWC. Using this method, those accounts you enter there will be polled every 15 minutes.

Hope this helps.

You probably do not need BlackBerry Redirector.

Just configure your BWC. Please see the following:
BlackBerry.com Getting Started Guide

Click "Integrate a BlackBerry account with a POP or IMAP account"

I set everything up properly and it is receiving email via the web client, but it is not being sent to the BB. I resent the service book but nothing is there.

Time to call Nextel I guess...

And the answer is...

They did not activate my service. Duh!

Thanks.
