I have a AT&T branded Motorola V600. I have become somewhat familair with hex editing and I would like to put the Engineerign Menu and AIM menu on my phone. I was wondering about the AIM menu. Will I be charged like 10 cents per message I send over AIM like when I send a text message if I enable AIM on my phone?

I was just wondering what the Engineering menu is? Is it just the "Network" Menu? It allows you to choose:

-New Network
-Netowrk Setup
-Availabe Networks
-Service Tone:
-Call Drop:
Or is this something entirely different???

I'm not sure about AIM message charges.
I've given up on trying to make AIM work on my RAZR as i can't imagine anyone trying to type on a phone keypad.

As far as the Engineering menu - no. Its an entirely different menu. I've enabled it, played around with it for about 10 minutes and haven't used it since.

Good luck.

Try looking for AIM in the Games & Apps section under Instant Messaging hit select, your phone will say Initializing and a menu will come up with 3 options: AIM-ICQ- Y! Messenger.

That'a how it is on my phone.

If you have an mmode plan, I'd REALLY recommend you trying the AIM IM svs thru mmode's email page. The AIM,ICQ,YM java killer-app is a money pit.I guess this monster-money-eating app isn't on all phones, like the T616, but it's on mine,T637. So be forewarned: It'll rob you blind a dime at a time, regardless of whether or not you don't have a txt plan, AND, you won't even need to send one IM in order to see your sms counter start adding and adding and...adding.

That's why I only use Email on my phone direct rather than using it through Mmode. I don't have to log into Mmode than navagate through there to get my Email. (this is where the get you in the data cost). I just set Email to check every 2 hours and when I get one I just click connect and receive my Email and close. It is shorter this way, because I'm just connecting directly to the Email section and not navagating to it.
