Telus 8900 Software Issue?

Hey everyone I've been having some problems with my 8900 lately. First of all the "vibrator" quit working when it rings. I was fine with that however now the internal and external LCDs won't light up.

I thought it may be a hardware isue but i dismanteled my phone and i could not see any broken wires, corosion or any defects that i could notice.

This is why i think it may be a software related problem. Now the external LCD still displays the time and everything fine (usually) but my phone does something really funny now.

When i put the phone into camera mode with it closed and snap a picture then open it up and press end to return the screen to normal it does something i've never even heard of. The time and date and everything that is there normally is still there however everything displays upsidedown!?

Another reason i think it isnt hardware is because although the internal LCD is never backlit when i enter a number or menu once in awhile (if i hold the phone so light doesn't reflect off it) the screen is normal just like it was when everything was working fine. To me this proves the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the phone must be good.

I dont know people but if anythone out there has had these problems and solved them i'd be very grateful to hear from you. I was thinking maybe if it is a software issue that i could reflash my phone maybe. The reason it might be messed up might be my ill failed attempts with BitPim but it worked for at least a month after i messed round on BitPim.

So let me know what you cell phone gods think about this i know if im gonna get this fixed this is the place to be.

Thanks

Matt P
