sanyo 8100 text messaging

hi, i have the sanyo 8100 and everytime i want to check/sent a text message i have to go online. i read somewhere that it is because i do not have sms and i have shortmail; however when i checked the details on my phone it said that it is sms capable. can anyone tell me more info? thanks

Your phone is SMS compatible because it is able to access those messages, unfortunately, as far as I know, you can only access them through ShortMail. However, if I am wrong, I look forward to learning an alternate route.

To send/receive messages, you must login to vision first. I think the sms is mentioned to say that you can receive sms messages, but due to the nature of the phone, you still have to login via vision.
