8900 - T9 Dictionary doesn't work

Has anyone else noticed that saving a new word in T9 Dictionary doesn't work in the phone book setting? This is very annoying when I've created a new contact name, can't save it, then having to type each letter again when sending a text message.
I haven't read any threads regarding this. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just my phone?

Didn't know the 8900 had one, and I owned that phone for 4 months
