I wondered if there was any way that you could keep the external display lit? I have seen a couple of other people ask it here but cant see any replies.
Also, I sometimes get "error" displayed when I try to access my message inbox, and this can only be resolved by turning the handset off then on again. I was wondering if there is something I'm doing to cause this? (For example the colouring on my set goes funny if I set a photo as wallpaper then try to hurry it onto a different menu, so I simply be patient when I do that and the problem doesnt occur.)
Thanks for the help btw.

From what I've read on other forums, the error message you get is a common problem as well as the coloring going funny. Many people have complained of it but some claim not to have problems. There also seems be a problem with the battery. You aren't doing anything wrong, its just a problem with the phone. If you are lucky, you might be able to get the phone updated in the future. I couldn't find any info about the backlight but if its like any other phone, you can't make it stay on

Thanks a lot braindead.
Something I now want to ask is about photo messaging. My friend has a Motorola v525 and I of course have my vk530. When he tries to send the picture it fails everytime (And he has enough credit by far for this.) He attatches the picture but it attatches as a "slide show" format, so we first wondered if that was why it couldn't be sent but there seems to be some sort of slideshow options myself.
He may be doing it wrong, does anybody have experience of sending from that phone who could help me?

Does anyone know what format the ringtones are in (E.G. mmf, amr etc)??

The ring tones are in MMF. You can download the free converter from yamaha. The files have to be VERY small though.
