Hey there.
Just yesterday we were able to activate a 7400 as our store demo phone, and start to play around with it and get a feel for the multimedia features. I must say it is a great handset, better than my original expectations, but there are a few lingering headaches I've found so far. The most significant of which is specifically the ability to use T9 in ANY J2ME application.
Regardless of what the phone is set to for Text messaging (infact i haven't even found a setting for input method when it comes to sms) the phone will start out in tap mode, in ALL CAPS. It doesn't even change to lowercase after the first character is typed. its simply all capitalized. Also, when changing to T9 mode, words are able to be typed, but there is no way to add a space. IE: you can type "hello" as 43556 but then pressing # to make a space, DOES NOT WORK!!!
Does anyone know if this is common amongst all new sprint phones? the last one I had ability to test this on was a vm4500, which did work as expected.
Thanks for your reply!

I've never had no such problem. Maybe there's something wrong with your phone. Some Java apps allow you to change text mode by pressing "*", but pressing the "#" key always puts a space after the word for me
